Hey! So this is my first fanfiction, enjoy!
"I must ask, father," I said, "who is it we are expecting?"
"Bella," Aro sighed, "you will find out when he gets here."
I looked at the papery-white man before me, who called me his adopted daughter, but refused to tell me anything. He stiffened, straightened his back, then stared straight at the entrance of the room. I followed his gaze, as I also sensed another presence. Seconds later, Jane walked into the room, followed by two other Volturi guards and a bronze-haired man.
"Master," Jane greeted, and stood off to the side. The two guards did the same.
Aro stretched a smile. "Welcome! Edward Cullen isn't it? I've heard all about you from my friend Carlisle."
"I'm sure it was a pleasure," the one named Edward said coldly.
Aro chuckled. "Now, I hear you wanted us to...well, end your existence because your brothers would not help you do it. But, I have decided that we will not do it either, for you talent is too valuable."
"I assure you that you will want to, before I decide to do something you definitely will not want," he said, in a somewhat threatening voice. His golden eyes flickered around the room, and ended at mines. I saw that his expression had softened a bit. Even though all vampires were inhumanly beautiful, his beauty was strange, almost in a unique way. Hold on, what am I thinking?!
"Watch your tone," said Jane.
"Or what?" challenged Edward, still staring at me. "I know what you can do, but I ask for death, something worse, so you don't scare me."
Jane glared at him through her red eyes. "You'll regret it."
With that, she smiled beautifully. He dropped to the floor, twitching in unmistakable pain, trying to hold back a scream. I watched the poor man, body responding to horrible pain, in horror. For the first time, because I never really cared about anyone else, I wanted Jane to stop.
"Stop it! Jane, stop!" I yelled, but she ignored me.
I whipped my head towards Aro. "Father, please, tell her to stop! She'll only listen to you."
"Perhaps this will convince him to change his mind about death," said Aro simply.
Edward finally let out the scream he was holding back, his voice echoing loudly between the walls. Jane just smiled more, clearly enjoying the show.
"Please! Father, she's hurting him!" I said desperately. But it was useless.
I looked again at the scene, felt anger sweeping through me, and I wanted to cause Jane horrible pain. Suddenly, Jane screamed and curled into a ball as if trying to protect every part of her body. Edward had stopped yelling and looked at me in surprise.
"Bella! Are you doing this?" asked Aro. I faced him and Jane stopped moving.
"I-I don't know," I answered truthfully. Was I? But I thought I did not own a special talent.
"I will speak with you later," said Aro. He left the room with Jane, whispering something to the guards, and I caught the words "Edward" and "torture".
"Excuse me for a moment," I said ungraciously to the remaining guards. "When I say that, I mean don't follow by any means."
I got up and walked through the entrance. I turned on my heel and faced the the one who I knew would follow. The idiot who did not have enough sense to know that you weren't supposed to provoke Jane.
