Friends Forever
Written by the Sonic Phantom
Heather was sitting in an alley near the castle of Crimea. She sighed in depression. Usually, she was never like this. She would usually like to make Nephenee smile by flirting with her, but lately, that wasn't the case. She didn't just flirt with Nephenee, she would randomly flirt with other girls such as Ilyana, who at the time was hungry (and probably still it) during the war of the goddess.
Not only has she done this in a while, but a lot of people found her actions towards women. Sure, she was a strange woman, but what was the point? She is still Heather who liked to flirt with Nephenee. Not in a romantic way, but in a friendly way.
She sighed again. "I just don't get it. Why hasn't Nephenee talked to me? Did I...do something wrong to offend her? I know it looked strange to others, but I didn't see what was the problem."
Some of the soldiers in the army were even curious of her. Some thought of her as the person who was not interested in guys, but the other way around. That she was in love with girls. It didn't really bother her for a while, but after not seeing Nephenee in some time, she started to grow a little sad.
The reason was of how people judged her towards other women. The more people gossip about her, the more it hurt her inside.
A small tear started to form in Heather's eye. She wanted to shrug off the feeling that was bothering her, but she couldn't do it. She felt frozen on the inside of her body and she couldn't move. The tear that was in her eye slowly started to roll down her face.
Suddenly, her eyes started to water heavily. The tears started to stroll down her face even more until Heather couldn't hold it in anymore. She started to cry. Soft whimpers were echoing throughout the alley that she was sitting in. She just couldn't take any more of this gossip that was spreading around anymore. She just cried as more tears started to stroll down her face.
"Um, hello?"
Heather turned her head towards the light of the alley to see a figure, whom looked like a female, seeing as her shadow was reflecting from the sunlight. "W-Who's there?"
"Heather? Is that you?" The figure asked.
That's when Heather recognized that familiar country accent. "N-Nephenee?"
Indeed it was Nephenee. The country girl slowly stepped into the alley and sat down on her knees while looking at Heather. "Heather? What are ya doing in this alley all by yerself?"
Heather didn't reply. All she did was stare down at the floor with a few wet tears drooping from her eyes.
"Heather? Are ya OK?" Nephenee asked with concern.
"...No." Heather replied slowly.
"Where's that cape that ya always wear?"
"I left it with my Mom."
"Are ya crying?"
"...Yes." Heather nodded slowly.
"You wanna talk about it?"
"...No."
"Wanna hug?"
Heather slowly looked up at Nephenee. "Yes."
With that, the two girls slowly wrapped their arms around each other. The hug that they were sharing was long, warm, and comforting. Heather didn't really care about the gossip that was surrounding her anymore.
"Are you and I still friends?"
"Yes. We'll always be friends." Heather smiled as the two continued to hug each other like it seemed time itself stood still.
No matter what gossip that surrounds Heather. No matter what people say about Heather. No matter what people think about her. She didn't care. All she cared about was one person. Her best friend, Nephenee.
One thing is for sure. Heather and Nephenee will always be friends.
Friends forever.
Author's Note: I wanted to test out the friendship side of Heather towards Nephenee in this oneshot. I like the pairing, even though people think it's yuri. As for the oneshot, I wanted it to keep it simple and treat these two as best friends instead of lovers.
Please, read and review.
