Author's Note: Well, this just popped into my head while listening to some of my music from way back when… Inspired by "Uninvited", by Alanis Morissette. Completely random, but these things happen.

Disclaimer: I don't own The Legend of Zelda or any of Alanis Morissette's music. If you're thinking of suing me, I should warn you that I have no money so you probably shouldn't bother.

Uninvited

Any woman would kill for you to look at them like you look at me, to touch them like you touch me. Your eyes full of lust, full of desire; your hands gentle, yet curious; your lips hungry. It's flattering, really, to know that of all the women in Hyrule, you picked me.

You're the perfect man. Kind, strong, handsome... and obedient. I can never have you, which only makes me want you more.

Go away, I tell you. You're not allowed to be here.

You make my blood boil, and you know it. You enjoy it. You like to tease me. You like the way I respond to your glances, how I melt under your touch. How only you have the power to break the façade of royalty and reach the woman beneath. You like breaking me, don't you?

Your calloused hands run over my body, setting me on fire. I can feel the heat radiating from your body. You lean in close, your warm breath tickling my ear. We should be together, you tell me. You're the hero, I'm the princess. That's how these things are supposed to work.

I tell you again, leave. You cannot be here.

I'm wiser than that. I only excite you because I'm forbidden. Once the novelty wears off, once I'm not a trophy to be won, no longer a castle under siege, you'll leave.

You say you love me, that you always have and always will. You say that you think I love you as well. You have no idea of the depth of love I am capable of. I can't show you, though. Unfortunate, but such is the price of power.

Leave, I say angrily, or I'm calling the guards.

You turn me to face you. Softly, quietly, you ask me to run away with you. To give up the throne, the power, to abandon my people, all for you.

I pull away angrily. I ask you what makes you worth leaving my duty behind.

Destiny, you reply. And love.

I turn sharply on my heel and storm out of the room, leaving you standing there dejectedly. You call out to me, simply telling me that you will wait for me, no matter how long it takes.

I do not think you unworthy of the hand of a princess, Link, not at all. It's just that abdication is not something to take lightly, no matter how strong the reasons. I… I just need a moment to deliberate.
