Patience by Eve-the-Charlotte
Pairings: Alex/Paige, soon to be requited Alex/Ray, and sprinkling of Pietro/Roberto and Logan/Jean.
Numero seis in my little series. I'm going to write a bigger story in this little pocket universe as soon as I finish this little series. I am also on my seventh caffeinated beverage, so stand back, here I come!
"Patience is a virtue which you, my dear, simply do not possess."-Magneto
Patience. That's what Ray had been told nearly all his life. That good things come to those who wait just a little bit longer, those who pray just a little bit harder, those who are just a little bit more patient. Just be patient, Raymond, you'll get what you want if you're patient enough.
This is what he was applying to his current situation, that he'd be patient and, perhaps, he might get what he wanted for once. And he knew exactly who he wanted, too. Alex Summers, alias Havok, younger brother of Scott "Stick Up My Ass" Summers, the star of Ray's dirty dreams for the past six going on seven months. All Ray had to do was be patient for a little while longer, and Alex would be begging for him to love him.
In the mean time, he bided his time by searching for Archie, alias Arcade, because, though the idiot had been out of line, he felt kinda bad for making him disappear. The guy just had a huge crush on him and tried to get rid of the competition. If he was in Archie's shoes, he might have done the same thing. He swore that, as soon as he found him, he'd find him a nice guy, like Paul Skyfeather, Scott's Aryan looking friend. Also, Ray helped Roberto, his roommate, to deal with his crush on Pietro Maximoff, though, as it turns out, 'Berto didn't need as much help as he thought he did, since Maximoff asked him out a week after Ray's involvement began. Ray also began to spy on Jean Grey, because he was a bit of an eavesdropper, and overheard Scott whining about Jean disappearing in the middle of the night sometimes. Turns out, Ray really, really didn't want to know, since Miss Grey had been sneaking out of Scotty's bed to get into Logan's. He could not look the man in the eye since he gained that bit of knowledge.
So, as fights between Alex and Paige grew more commonplace, Ray had to hide his glee. When they broke up, his glee went down slightly, since Alex was truly miserable right afterwards. Yet, when there's life there's hope, since Alex calmed down after a few weeks of moping and started hanging out with Ray more often than not. Ray had to hide his smile. Just a few more nudges and he had his prize. His mother was right for once, patience did have its reward.
