Author's note: I wrote most of this before the premiere of "iMake Sam Girly", but I didn't get it up until now so I had to change a few things.

iDon't Want Her To Change

I walk into the Groovy Smoothie and sit down at the counter. "I'll have the usual, Teebo." I signal the hippie behind the counter that I want my smoothie. Teebo nods at me and starts to fix up my strawberry-banana smoothie.

"Bagel? I'll sell you the whole stick five dollars?" Teebo asks, casually, pointing to a stick with a bunch of bagels around it.

I wasn't paying attention to him but at the smoothie being blended together, lost in thought. Teebo shakes a hand in front of me to get my attention. "Hello? Freddie?" He snaps his fingers in front of my face. I jump.

"Oh, sorry, I was just thinking about something," I answer, slightly dazed.

"Do you mind telling me what it is?"

I blush. "I don't think I should tell you."

"Why not?"

"It's about a girl..."

Teebo nods his head and grins, "We've all been there, little dude. When a girl enters your world, everything changes especially if it is the girl that makes you feel special."

I make a face. "It isn't like that at all."

"It's not?"

"It's complicated."

"When is a relationship with a woman not complicated?"

I couldn't help but laugh. "I see your point, but it isn't like that at all."

"Well, what is it like then?"

"This girl told one of my best friends that she had a crush on the new guy at our school." Teebo nods for Freddie to continue, "his name is Pete Marsh. He's tall, has great hair, and every girl is in love with him."

"So what's wrong with this girl liking Pete?"

"She asked my friend to help her become more girly so Pete would notice her, and I couldn't stand to be around them for a second longer. She was trying to kill me the last time they wanted her to practice her girliness on me. I thought I was going to be sick."

"Don't get sick on the counter, man, I just cleaned it. So this girl is not a girly girl, why does she want to change?"

"She probably thought the guy wouldn't go out with her if she didn't act like a girl," I add, without thinking, "of course, that's stupid. She shouldn't change who she is to have a guy notice her. Guys usually like girls that are who they are no matter who they hang out with."

Teebo's mouth fell open as he stared at me.

"What?" I ask, confused at the hippie's expression.

"Are you in love with the tomboyish girl?"

This time it was my turn to have my mouth agape. "How could you say such a thing?"

"Your choice of words, my man."

"You aren't helping, Teebo."

"I'm just asking if you like her, don't have a cow, my brother."

I threw my hands in frustration. "I think I'll just pay for my smoothie and go home. You aren't helping me any."

Teebo only shrugged, and mumbled under his breath, as he watched Freddie leave the Groovy Smoothie. "He must really be in love with her."
