Shigeru's Reasons (Or, Why Shigeru Feels His Love is Completely Justified)

Pairings: Pre-Shigeru/Shinji slash.
Summary: Shigure felt his love was justified.
You see, there were several reasons why Shigeru felt he was in totally, and completely, in love with Shinji. It wasn't a particularly long list. No, there were very few reasons why people fell in love; however, you could always list reasons why you felt that your love was vindicated.
It all started when Satoshi had come back to Pallet Town at age nineteen, for a brief break from traveling. While Shigeru had certainly grown up – people change as life progresses, after all – and was definitely not the same little twerp that felt satisfaction in just pissing the people around him off, he could see that Satoshi had grown up, too.
For one, his definite height. The little boy that he had befriended, long ago, was certainly not a little boy any longer. There was width to his shoulders, and he had let his hair grow out to his shoulders. His clothing style had evolved, just the slightest bit, though he still wore his familiar cap.
While Satoshi and Shigeru weren't rivals any more, they weren't by any means friends - grudges didn't change by much, just because the person had. However, they could act civil.
So, when Satoshi had mentioned an old rival, by the name of Shinji, Shigeru had simply waved it off. But not without a little spark of interest.
After all, if a person's name is swiftly followed by the phrase, "that unbelievable bastard," they were interesting… right? Of course they were.
When Satoshi had left again, with his trusty Pikachu riding on his shoulder, Shigeru had filed away the name of his old opponent.
And then Satoshi had come back again, tugging a lavender-haired teen behind him. Nobody could blame Shigeru for allowing his interesting to bloom like a Kimawari during spring… right?
Thus, the creation of this list. Shigeru felt the need to justify why he felt the way he did to himself, just so he didn't have any second thoughts while he actually… cultivated his schemes.
The Reasons Why I Feel I Like Shinji
1. He's handsome. Handsome people should be with each other.
2. His ego is so fucking huge, that I find it infuriatingly endearing!
3. He always thinks he's right, until I correct him.
4. When that happens, a huge argument starts.
5. When he's angry, he blushes and starts to sputter.
6. I think he's cute when he sputters.
6. He won't ever act as if he was walking on eggshells around me, like a Pacchiru teetering back and forth on its paws.
7. He's quick to correct me when I'm wrong, too.
8. He's grown up… a lot.
9. He's a total asshole, and I think l could spend the rest of my life with him.
Looking over the list, Shigeru felt satisfaction. It was by no means perfect, but it was a carefully cultivated list of reasons why he felt the need to be with Shinji.
Looking both ways in his room, the man filed the list away in a place he was sure Shinji would never find it. And now, the planning would commence.

So, this is my first try at Shigeru/Shinji, and I'm wondering how you guys felt I did? Well... first try at anything related to Pokémon...
