Cabbage. He was sure that Miyagi was getting tired of eating it all the time, and he had to admit that he was getting tired of the green vegetation too. But else was there he could cook? He would be the first to admit that he wasn't gifted in the culinary department, but he was willing to try, if that would make Miyagi keep loving him. Sighing, Shinobu ran his fingers through his hair before blinking.

Didn't Miyagi have a few cookbooks around the house somewhere? And he could run down to the store to buy ingredients if he needed them. Determination renewed, he searched for a book and found one, sinking down onto the couch to read it. There were so many options. Miso soup, ramen, terriyaki chicken, sobayaki...the list went on.

"I'll make..." His index finger stabbed the page. "Chicken dumplings!"

He got to work immediately despite having to run to the store to buy chicken and a few other things. Miyagi wouldn't be home for a while, and so he busily began to prepare the food, hoping that it would turn out well. He was just finishing it when the front door opened.

"I'm home," called Miyagi, and Shinobu heard footsteps approaching as the older man entered the kitchen. "What are you doing?"

"Making dinner, what does it look like?" retorted Shinobu, and Miyagi glanced at the pot before blanching. Not that he didn't appreciate the effort on Shinobu's half, h e just wanted to keep his stomach the way it was. But he had to admit, it didn't look as bad as his creations normally did. Nothing like that sandwich, which relieved the older man. [*]

"Shinobu-chin..." He trailed off and sighed before sitting down at the table and allowing Shinobu to plate the food. Now that he got a better look, the food did look questionable, purple smoke seeping from the small lumps that quivered when Miyagi poked it with his chopsticks. "What is it?"

"Um...chicken dumplings...?" Even Shinobu was staring at the food like he expected it to jump up and bite him. "Want to go out to eat?"

Miyagi stood. "Good idea."
