Summary: The Chronicles of Narnia – The Unforeseen

It is twenty human years since King Peter and Queen Susan left Narnia for good, with Prince Caspian ruling in their stead. These years have passed in the same amount of time for Narnia, and now King Caspian has a daughter, Princess Alita, with his queen Siluriel. Nineteen-year-old Alita has devoured her history lessons and her father's stories of the four Kings and Queens of Narnia, and her dearest wish is to meet them. But she must remain content to dream about them and what they might be like.

In the real world, meanwhile, Susan and Peter have both grown up and married, and Lucy and Edmund are finishing their schooling. Susan's son Nicholas Pevensie Llewellyn feels as though he has grown out of the stories his mother tells him. He is logical and intelligent, and though he claims to not believe in Narnia, Aslan, and the prince who nearly stole his mother's heart, he does harbor a small twinge of hope that it is all real.

Nicholas and Alita will finally get their wishes granted.

When Nicholas is captured by Calormen hunters who have found a portal into the human world and bring him back to Narnia, it is up to Alita to save him and help close the portal so that no one - Narnian or human - can reach Narnia again. Aided by many friends along the way, Alita and Nicholas will be forced to choose allegiances, listen to their hearts, and fulfill their destinies before the world as they know it can collapse.

Author's Note:

I am aware that The Last Battle details the end of the world of Narnia, but this takes place between the end of Prince Caspian and the beginning of The Voyage of the Dawn Treader.
