I wrote this for Language Arts class last year. It's a letter Winnie wrote to the Tucks when she turned seventeen.

My Dearest Tucks,
Oh, so many things have changed since I last saw you all!!! It's hard to believe that it's been seven years since we parted. There isn't a day that goes by that I don't wonder where you are, or what you are all doing. You all helped me in ways I can't explain. You showed me that you can't let yourself be caged up, you have to take chances, and have adventures.
Mae, I hear the melody of your little music box every night before I go to sleep. I often find myself humming the little tune in the times I have a quiet moment to myself.
Miles, thank you for explaining both sides of immortality, the good, and the sad.
Tuck, I have never forgotten our talk on the pond. Many times I have relived the conversation that changed my entire view on the world and it's cycle. That life is a wheel, and it must keep turning.
For me, it will keep turning, and someday someone will take my place.
Jesse, I'm sorry, so sorry, I just can't drink from the spring. I have thought long and hard up until this day, my seventeenth birthday, and I have to stay mortal, I can't leave my family. I have been going to school to become a teacher, and there is a boy I like named Roger Jackson. Jesse, I want you to find someone to love you completely, and not have any hint of regret if they choose to become immortal and be with you forever.
I love all, so much, and I'm sorry I can't join you forever. I just, well, you taught me so much, and, I just can't put your secret at risk by disappearing.
My love forever,
Winnie
P.S.- If you see a toad that is very brown, and isn't afraid of anything, that is my toad! Goodbye, and I love you all, so much, and I always will, even after I am gone.
Review if you like. Even if you didn't, I still love feedback!
