Snowy Merry Christmas

*

Looking around the Hub, Ianto shook his head at the mess. No matter how hard he tried to get the others to clean up after themselves, it never worked, leaving Ianto, to once again, clean up after the others, which he usually didn't mind. Except tonight was Christmas Eve and he had hoped to get home early, so that he'd be well rested for when he went over to Rhiannon's, to watch the kids open their presents.

He couldn't help but smile as he thought of his niece and nephew, the way their faces would light up when they opened their presents, kind of the way Jack's did. Chuckling, as he thought of the Captain and the way he could still be child-like after all he'd been through, Ianto went about cleaning up the mess, stopping when his phone went off.

"Ianto," Jack's voice came over the line sounding slightly panicked. "I need you to get to the top of the Library. Don't call the others, only you can help."

Before he could reply, Jack hung up. Worry coursed through Ianto, wondering what could have Jack so panicked.

Striding outside to where the vehicle was still parked from earlier that evening, Ianto jumped in, not feeling the usual joy he felt when he saw snow start falling. It didn't take him long to get to the building and run up to the roof.

Pushing through the door, he froze as the image in front of him came into focus.

Coloured Christmas lights were strung all over the roof, lighting up the snow as it fell across the roof, and the blanket situated off to one side, champagne on ice with two glasses, on it. Music was playing lightly in the background and right in front of him stood Jack, coat on, and a smug smile crossing his face.

Walking towards the man, Ianto felt the panic and worry that had wormed its way through him on the drive over, leave. Leaving a sense of happiness and, if he was honest, love.

"May I have this dance?" Jack asked quietly, one hand held out to Ianto. Looking into the shining blue eyes, Ianto wondered how it was possible to fall even harder for the man.

Nodding, he took the hand, melting into Jack's embrace, as the Captain pulled him closer, one hand gently holding Ianto's, while the other rested lightly at his waist. As they slow danced, he felt the tension of the day melting away, and closed his eyes, unable to stop the smile that crossed his face, as Jack kissed his head.

"Merry Christmas, Ianto," Jack whispered into his hair. Pulling back, Ianto looked up into his Captain's eyes, wondering if the emotion he saw in the other man's eyes was similar to what he was feeling, before closing the distance and kissing him softly. Trying to show Jack through the kiss how much he appreciated what he had done.

"Merry Christmas, Jack," he replied, as the kiss ended, the two men still swaying to the music, as the snow fell down.
