'It was supposed to be an easy mission,' he thought. Hi guys, first story, go easy.

'It was supposed to be an easy mission,' he thought. He was currently surrounded by to twenty or so odd ninja. 'Nobody said it would be easy, kit'. 'Yeah, but this is ridiculous. An easy just guard mission turns into a fight for life. Honestly what did she do to piss these guys off? Ah, it doesn't matter. Ready Kyuubi?' 'Wouldn't have it any other way kit, wouldn't have it any other way.'

He prepared himself for the up coming attack. "Keep your head down miss."

"Alright," she said.

"Ha, he thinks he can take us," said one of the rogue ninja.

"Listen kid, we'll let you go if you just give us the girl," the leader said.

"Yeah right, you expect me to believe you'll let me live if I hand this girl over. I don't know what she did to piss you off, but that is not going to happen," said the blonde ninja, "Kage Bunshin no Jutsu." Twennty clones appeared and they quickly dispatched the rogue ninja with out as so much as breaking a sweat. By now Naruto wanted nothing more than just to get this mission over with. He and a certain pink haired ninja had finally admitted their feelings for each other, much to the relief of those around them. 'Just one more day and then it's done and I can go home,' he thought.

"Let's go."

"Right."

He didn't even bother to ask why they lied about the dangerousness of the mission, most of the time it was save a couple of bucks and it happens to happen to him a lot. Nothing more occurred in the time it took to get the lady home safely and Naruto was happy to be heading home. He went straight through that night in hopes of getting back to the Village Hidden in the Leaves early. He slowed during the day, but when he caught sight of the gates he broke into an all out sprint for his finish line.

'Ha, I see you made it back in record time, kit. Got something on your mind, though I think I already know.' 'Shut it, you damn fox.' 'That's an original come back, kit.' 'I have to go to Tsunade and report on the mission.' 'What no snappy name calling, my god you really must want to get home.' 'You think, let's just get this over with.' Naruto ran all the way to the Hokage's mansion and instead of bursting through the doors he knocked.

"Come in," Tsunade said, "… Naruto, yo… you actually knocked!"

"Yeah, the mission went well. We ran into a little trouble, but it wasn't anything I couldn't handle. Can I go now?" asked Naruto.

"Sur…Sure Naruto you can go."

"Thank you." Naruto turned and left the building.

"What just happened Tsunade-sama?" asked Shizune.

"I really don't know myself, Shizune," said Tsunade, "I think we both need a drink after that one."

"I couldn't agree with you more Tsunade."

After exiting the mansion, Naruto broke into a run to get back to his appartment. He smiled when it came into view and he jumped right up to the front door. He inserted the key into the lock and opened the door. He was quite surprised to see that the apartment was cleanier than when he left. He started to walk around the apartment, after taking his shoes off, and failed to noticed a tuff of pink hair hinding behind the couch. Naruto made his way toward his bedroom, a little dissapointed that his cherry blossom wasn't here. He could have sworn that she said she'd be here.

"I missed you," said his cherry blossom, Sakura, as she snaked her arms around his waist. Turning around and hugging her back, Naruto picked her up bridal style and started toward the bed. He then tossed a giggling Sakura onto the bed and proceeded to pounce on her by kissing her likes there's no tomorrow.

"Finally," he said as they parted for air.
