She raised an eyebrow as Cloud approahced her, his hands rubbing nervously against the cloth of his shirt. Everyone else had left the Hotel to gather supplies from the shops but Cloud had insisted that she stay in the Hotel until he returned. At first, she had argued, thinking he was stopping her being involved again but it turned out he had a surprise for her. Now that he was here, ready to reveal whatever it was, she felt the excitement rising within her.
"Ready?" he asked, his nerves showing in his voice. She tilted her head to the side, giving him a thoughtful look. What could have gotten him so nervous? It couldnt have been the fact that he was around her because they had actually started a relationship not too long ago.
"Yeah," she replied to his question, giving him a smile that she hoped would calm him. He nodded thankfully and tilted his head towards the door as a sign they should go. Aeris followed him silently as they stepped out into the outside world. She glanced at him before lacing their fingers together. Cloud's lips twitched upwards a little in response but he didn't say anything as he led her down the path.
Aeris was curious as to what Cloud could possibly have organised that involved being outside. She would have thought he would want to get going after Sephiroth as soon as possible. She opened her mouth to question him but the words died on her lips as they stopped and her eyes fell upon a small picnic basket sitting on a chequered blanket. She turned to Cloud, who was smiling nervously.
"Because we just don't have enough time together," he whispered.
