"One Good Choice"

There was dirt on his face from where he'd dug himself out of his grave.

Castiel would've been there to help him out if it wasn't for the hope that Dean would hear him. If he heard him, then that meant this plan might work. But Dean didn't hear him. He ducked for cover and tried to shield the little shop with salt around the windows.

Castiel had faith in God, but he wasn't sure he had faith in His choice of servants.

Dean didn't like him, and Castiel only saw Dean as a means to an end. If he felt sympathy every now and then, if he wanted Dean to have been able to change his past, what was that to anyone?

Angels could make mistakes, but they couldn't find forgiveness. If he was a little jealous of the freedom Dean had so recklessly squandered in the past, what difference did it make?

He was just a servant of the Lord. There was only one good choice for him.
