I don't own House
"Doctor what do you think is wrong with Gregory?" asked Bhythe House who had Gregory House in her arms.
"Your son may have a disorder related with autism called Asperger syndrome, this manifests in highly individual ways and can have both positive and negative effects on a person. It is typically characterized by issues with social and communication skills" stated the doctor.
"What can we do?" asked John House.
"Well, Gregory will be a somewhat normal child he should have absolutely no problem with learning by an intellectual standards, he could become a doctor or a lawyer if he wanted to. The thing worries me is that he will not have good social skills, he'll have trouble with making friends and will have only some level of understanding of emotions and may have trouble fitting in, during his adult life" said the doctor.
"Should we treat Gregory differently?" asked Bhythe almost about to cry.
"I would say that you should treat him the same way you always have, and actually try and get Gregory to be more social and maybe get him to learn an instrument. I would recommend the piano as their has been some studies show that learning the piano can give child like Gregory more confidence which could help with Gregory improving his social skills" said the doctor.
Gregory started to cry and bhythe turned his son around so that Gregory was looking at his mother. Bhythe tried to calm him down but know Gregory said "no mommy, I am normal I'm fine nothing's wrong with me. I have good social skills" said Gregory to his mother who was know hugging him and Gregory stopped crying.
"The thing about Asperger syndrome, is that young children have great vocabulary skills but have a problem with talking to people" the doctor know looked at Gregory and asked "how old are you Gregory?"
"I'm three and a half, why do you want to know?" asked Gregory know intrigued by the doctor.
"Just asking" said the doctor to Gregory.
"I would like you to start teaching him the piano. I feel that could help him feel more normal. I don't want to put Gregory on any medication. But I do want you to treat him as normal possible.
END FLASHBACK
House was in Cuddy's office arguing about something he did to a patient's family or something.
"House did you hear me?" asked Cuddy
"What. Sorry I wasn't paying attention I was thinking about something that happened a long time ago" said House telling the truth for once.
"I said, that I was looking at your medical files and I noticed that when you were three, you were diagnosed with Asperger syndrome. How come you never told me?" asked Cuddy being sympathetic.
"Because you would treat me differently, and I also didn't tell you that I was abused by my father for that reason. I doesn't really matter," said House calmly.
"What makes you think that?" asked Cuddy.
"Because you an I both know that this would validate my behavior and that would be unfair" said House.
"But, this is a serious condition which explains why you act the way you do" said Cuddy know next to him.
"I know that, but I would rather everyone think I'm a jerk than people think that its because I have a disorder related to autism. Do you think people would want a doctor who has autism or a doctor who is a jerk?" state House in a rhetorical question.
"You could of told me I would of kept it to my self" said Cuddy.
"But, you would still treat me differently, we more so than usual" said House ready to leave.
"Do you really think I would treat you differently because I know?" said Cuddy trying to be sympathetic.
"YES!" said House as he left the office.
As House walked towards the elevator he got in and though 'would they really treat me differently?' as the elevator opened and House walked into his office he couldn't stop the though leave his head.
