It was a beautiful day. The kind of day that everyone wishes for during the summer, with warm air and a cool breeze. The trees swayed in the wind and the grass gave off a shining, green glow under the bright sun. It was... a perfect day for a picnic. And a picnic it was.

Or more so it was a tea party.

A twenty-seven year-old Doctor D. fidgeted on the checkered blanket. It was a great day, but it would be an even greater day for digging in the nearby ruins. But instead he found himself playing the babysitter. Wearing a stupid sun hat no less! He grumped for a bit, sitting cross-legged and staring down at the tea set that was being laid set up before him. Forget tea! He wanted tools: a chisel, a good brush, some books and his notepad! But it was not to come. His mother had gotten the best of him.

He had learned of some ruins discovered near his hometown by the mountains, and since it was nearby he had figured that he could crash at his mom's house. He did ever love her good home cooking. But the excavating had taken longer than he had planned and he found himself being asked to do things around the house. First it was little chores, some dusting, setting the table for dinner. Eventually it evolved into washing clothes, and... this.

His mother had decided to go shopping in the market with another good family friend of theirs. He, in turn, ended up babysitting her friend's daughter. Now he had done this before, back when he was fifteen and the girl was just a baby. It was fairly exciting! He had enjoyed watching her get into all kinds of trouble like every infant does. But now she was twelve. She had been brought up in a rather well-to-do family, enjoying prim and proper things like tea. And she had a lot more patience than he did.

He took the hat off to wipe the sweat from his brow and the ruffled his brown hair to let it air out in the breeze. It was hotter than he had expected.

"Put that back on!"

Doctor D. looked over at the girl and sighed, "Please, Louise. It's too hot for me to wear this silly thing."

She looked him over, as if assessing just how hot he was. "Nonsense! It's only a sun hat."

"But, Louise," he whined as if he was her own age.

"Please??" came a meek reply. "I've been wanting to do this all summer but Mom is always so busy and Dad is always on some sort of business trip!"

Doctor D. frowned, but returned the hat to his head. "Okay, okay. But only this once. We really need to find you a better summer activity than a tea party." He then smiled at Louise, realising she shared his impatience, just with different interests in mind. "So then! Do you have any Cinnamon-Apple?"

(I guess I just wanted to try writing something for a random character from just a regular everyday perspective. This was amusing, as Doctor D. is a very enjoyable character, and I've always wondered what he'd be like in his younger years. I really doubt he'd have been quite as crazy as he is in his older age, but still fun nonetheless. Louise is tricky too, in case anyone missed it, she's the New Helic President. Maybe I should have continued this longer, but I wanted to keep it short.)
