A teenage boy sat in the remains of a burnt down warehouse, his hair and skin littered with soot. The long abandoned warehouse once stood in the business district of Vale, but it now laid around him, smoldering. Burnt wood and melted steel surrounded him, and he sat there as the last flames died out. A faint orange glow surrounded him and he laughed a bit as he looked around him, feeling none of the heat from the fire. He dusted himself off, shaking his hair and letting loose a shower of soot from his brown hair. He smiled and extended his arms, the heat he had absorbed now radiating from his body and he quelled it. His yellow eyes darted around and he quickly fled as a firetruck approached. His name was Oro Sterling, a child of Silver Sterling and Marie Night, two B class huntsmen. He was a psuedo pyromaniac, able to control his urges, though at times he didn't.
He smiled and gripped his lighter, the fire dust powered accessory being a gift from his Uncle Dirst. He flicked it on as he slowed his run, his hand sheilding the tiny flame, and he admired the flickering lick of heat. He slowly began to sap heat from the flame before he extinguished it. He made it home and snuck in, taking a very fast shower. He smiled and gently scratched his cat's head, before he got dressed in some pajamas. It was really late, so he passed out when he hit the bed. When he woke in the morning he rolled out of bed, landing on the hard wood floor, his aura softening the impact.
He stood up and glanced around his room, it wasn't too decorated, just having his bed, dresser, desk and minifridge. He sighed and looked on top of his dresser at his weapon case, which he opened. Inside were two weapons, dual short swords inlaid with fire and wind dust. They weren't long, only two feet in length, and had a slight curve to the blade. He smiled as he grabbed the leather wrapped handles and felt their familiar weight in his hands, 'Ráfaga y llamarada, gust and flare.' He thought to himself and chuckled as he set them back into their case.
He got dressed in a pair of grey jeans, a red button up shirt and black undershirt, his work uniform. He smiled as he walked through his family's home, snagging a strawberry donut with a quick, "Headed to work, love ya." He smiled and hopped onto his bike as he scarfed down the donut in just four bites. He made his way down Vytal Drive and turned on New Vale avenue. After a nearly twenty minute ride, he parked his bike in an alleyway behind his job, 'Torch Wicke's Suits and Styles for gentlemen', chaining it to a pipe. He smiled as he entered the back door to be greeted by a small girl with bi-colored hair of brown and pink, pulled into two pigtails. "Hey Neo." He said, and he gently patted her head. She gave him a small nod before she typed out, 'Boss is in his office, we've got a new employer.'
Oro simply sighed and said, "Shit, hopefully its nothing that I dirty my hands with." He chuckled and grabbed his tape measure, he was the store fitter, and he sat in the small lounge behind the counter, waiting for a customer or two. Some customers came in over the course of four hours and he helped them get the right size clothing, before he noticed a trio entering the store. Two ladies and one guy, all seemingly nice enough, but for some reason started to feel uneasy. There were three of them, a pale black haired woman, a pale silver haired boy and a cute dark skinned girl with mint hair. The black haired woman went straight to Roman's office and left the two teens to wander the store.
A soft chuckle escaped him as he approached the two teens, "Anything I can assist you with?" He asked politely, Roman always said that charm and confidence could make anyone a customer. He received a raised eyebrow from the mint haired girl and a smirk from the silver one, "Yeah, where could I get a nice shirt?" He asked and Oro quickly went over the layout of the store in his mind, "Well we have our dress wear in the back left corner, ranging in all sizes from adult small to tripple XL." He said, leading the duo of teens to the nice and new clothing, organized by color and size. "Our colder colors, blues and greens are to your left, and the further right you go, you'll find reds and yellows, or the warmer colors." He then asked, "Do you plan to buy, or are you just browsing?"
The sliver haired teen shrugged, the mint one shaking her head, "For now we're just browsing." Oro just gave them a small smile, "Let me know if you find anything you'd like." He turned, his joyful exterior falling as he did, they were not his largest concern, especially with Beacon starting up in a few weeks. He sat down amd checked his scroll, before a small gloved hand grasped the small bit of metal at the end, "Yes Neo?" She pointed to the back and he nodded, and stood, approaching his boss's office. The thick mahogany door resonated well so his knock could be heard. "Boss, you called for me." "Come in." Torchwick said, and Oro pushed open the door, finding the eccentric man in a black button up shirt with a red tie and black dress pants, seated at his desk.
Oro stepped in, finding the woman seated across from Roman, and he said, "Cinder, this is my pyromaniacly inclined employee, Oro Sterling." Oro gave a small, "Hello." before Roman continued, "And Oro, this is my new employer, Cinder Fall." She gave a small smile, and then Roman said, "Take a seat." Oro nodded and grabbed a chair, sitting to the left of Cinder. "So why did you call me in Boss?" He looked at his boss, who seemed more cautious than usual. "Kid explain your semblance, in full." He nodded and began,
"The Spirit and Mind all a connection, I am a pyromaniac, so my semblance revolves around fire and heat. My aura draws absorbs heat and fire and allows me to release it in either two ways, an unfocused aura heating an area around me or a focused beam capable of melting Grimm and sapping the strength of humans and faunus." Cinder let out a small hum of thought, "A powerful semblance indeed, though, I'm curious as to why Roman called you in here." Roman smiled, "The kid is going to Beacon in a few days, and he might just be useful to your goal." Oro raised an eyebrow and looked at Cinder. "Just over a week actually." He gave a small smile, before he shrunk back a bit, her aura having turned malicious.
He sat back as he asked, "So, is there anything else you need me for?" Roman shook his head and said, "No, you're good to go." He nodded and slipped out, not wanting to interfere with the rest of their conversation, and his scroll buzzed, his noon timer going off. "Neo, I'm heading off to my lunch break, I'll be back in a hour." The petite girl nodded and watched him as he left. He headed out into Vale, and stepped into a Vacuan buffet, his stomach growling as he did. He waited to be seated, a wolf faunus couple beside him glaring at him as their baby boy gurgled at the toy in his hands. He looked at the baby and said, "He's cute, I hope he doesn't glare as much as you two do." He said and looked away as the couple were called for their seats.
He looked around as the scent of spices filled the air, multiple platters of fresh food being brought out to take the place of emptied trays. He smiled as he was called to his seat and he asked for a lemonade before he got up to fill his plate. Nearly thirty minutes later he was on his fourth plate, and he smiled as he bit into the final taco on his plate. He soon finished up his plate and made his way to the counter, paying for his meal and he grabbed a mint. He popped the candy into his mouth and made his way back to work. He opened the back door and came in to find Roman, with his head in his hands, seated on the counter.
"Kid, were gonna be robbing some dust stores, bosses orders." He paused and said, "For every theft, twenty percent goes to me, to be split ten and ten between us and the other eighty goes Oum knows where." Oro nodded and sighed, "We better say I'm working overtime and I'm getting a mask. Knowing your antics, I'm not having my identity revealed." He sighed, and pulled out a small notepad he carried in his back pocket. He flipped it to a page where he had sketched a mask, it would cover all but his eyes and mouth, and would be capable of anchoring to his face on his jaw, so it could move when he spoke. He smiled and handed the sketch to Roman, "I'll be making this in the back."
Soooooooooo... Long time no see , well at least for my writing. Sorry about that, well, I plan to fix that with my OC story. This will typically follow RWBY, up to the Volume 3 Finale. That's where a few major changes happen. I hope you enjoyed this chapter, and I'll try to have the next chapter out before September 25th, no promises.
