Cuddle Buddy
Seeing as how one could never tell the time on the TARDIS, I would go to bed when I felt fatigued or sleepy. My room was pleasntly comfortable, but I almost never slept there. I tried when I joined up with the Doctors four incarnation, but old habits just die hard. At first I was afriad that he'd be angry with me, so I fought as long as I could. Course that ment many a sleepless night (or whatever). Then I just could'nt take it anymore.
When the both of us had retired for some sleep, I waited un till I was sure the Doctor was asleep. I snuck into his room, and crept into his bed. he was laying on his back, one arm over his head and the other dangling off the side of the bed. I cuddled into his chest and listened to his two hearts beating. I almost laughed when I noticed that he wore what looked like a long night shirt. A 'man gown' I called it.
He smelt nice. I didnt know how to describe it, really. Masculine, yet gentle. I let all the sensations soak in and sooth me to sleep. I woke up due to what felt like a long, bony finger poking my head. Grumbling and sitting up, I saw the Doctors big, fish eyes looking to me.
"I know, I know. I'll get." I reached for my pillow, but the Doctor stopped me with a hand on mine.
"What ever for? I rather enjoyed having a bunk mate for the night."
"Really?" I was suprised that he didnt seem annoyed, like my first Doctor had been.
"Really. Forgive me for saying so, but it was like having a big plush toy at my side." he ran a hand through my hair, scratching my head a little.
"So, is it alright if I sleep with you from now on? I mean, just share a bed; not the other thing!" I said in a haste. The Doctor gave me one of his best perplexed looks.
"What's 'the other thing', if I may ask?" I went blank for a moment before laughing. I felt even safer knowing that the Doctor had to ask.
"Oh, nothing." I hugged him tight.
And so off we drifted back to sleep. The Doctor didnt mind that I held onto him like a little kid. He just had that effect on me. And I didnt mind that he nuzzled into my hair. Guess he just likes the texture.
'Two little kids," I thought. "Thats what we are. Just two little kids in a time machine."
