How I Met Sandra Pullman

"So how'd you meet her mate?" Gerry's friend Daniel asked as they sat at the bar at the wedding reception.
"It's a long story mate." Gerry replied smiling at the memory.
"We have a long time, anyway I haven't seen you for years mate and then I get another wedding invite and I turn up and you have a gorgeous bird on your arm. I need to know how this happened, got to keep a bit of hope alive for me!" Daniel laughed in the strong cockney accent.
"Fine. Me and Sandra met at work."
"Yeah long story there mate. I want the detailed version."
"Fine but if Sandra comes over then I have to go and spend some time with my wife."
"I can agree to that but don't have her stopping all boys nights out."
"Dan we haven't had a boys night out since before I started working at UCOS."
"Fair point but we need to start doing it again. Don't let the mrs stop you."
"She wouldn't, she doesn't mind."
"So come on then, how did you meet?"
"I got an interview for UCOS after my old friend Jack told me to and she clearly didn't like me in the interview. She was a stroppy madam."
"Aren't all women that have the pleasure of meeting you?"
"Ha ha funny. No so eventually I got told I got the job and we all met in the pub, I remember I called her sweetheart and from then on she hated me for months."
"What changed?"
"She realised if she was going to be a part of UCOS then she might as well enjoy it as she was stuck there and that we weren't too bad."
"So how did you get from friends to now married?" Dan asked.
"We were friends for quite a while but I quite fancied her but she never knew. That was until she went diving for evidence, when I felt such a strong need to keep her safe I realised I didn't just fancy her but I in fact loved her."
"How did you tell her?"
"Well I didn't at first, I kept moaning about her going but it was only once she pulled me aside that she realised. We didn't say much at the time and in fact she was quite jokey but she came round mine later that night in attempt to figure out what was going on."
"And you slept with her?" Gerry nodded. "So a bit of the Standing charm and she was hooked."
"Something like that."
"So that was what, 7 years ago?"
"Yeah."
"That's the longest you've ever kept a bird. There must be a secret to it."
"Yeah the secret is we were friends first and separated our relationship from work. I'm not going to say it's always been perfect, we've argued, she's stormed out but we've always come back to each other."
"Even when you've had a bit on the side?"
"That's not happened. With Sandra I could never want or need anyone else."
"God you must really love her."
"I really do."
