Disclaimer: I don't own Gilmore Girls. If I did there would be no need for this fic.
AN: This is just a little idea I had. I absolutly wanted to write them. It isn't much and it hasn't any dialogue because I have the feeling I couldn't do them justice. Furthermore I want to apologize for the mistakes. I hope you like it despite that. Thanks
Maybe, just maybe
She looks up at the grey sky and closes her cellphone with a snap. The weather fits her mood perfectly.
She is mad. Mad at herself for hurting him the last time, at her mother for always assuming that he was a bad person and is going to hurt her again and mad at him for being able to hurt her that much.
But most of all she is scared, because he still had the power to hurt her and she is afraid that he would do it again. That he doesn't love her anymore. That he has a girlfriend.
Then there was also a bit of hope, like the ray of sun somehow shining through the dark clouds. Maybe, just maybe, he would still feel the same and they could make it work this time or even if not maybe be at least friends. That were definitely to many possibilities for her liking.
Taking a least deep breath she opens the door, the bells above it announcing her entry. She looks around and just as she wants to decide whether it was good or not that he isn't there she hears him say her name.
"Rory?", it is a question. He isn't sure what he should think about it. Why was she here? Would she hurt him again or maybe, just maybe, tell him that she was sorry and that they should try it again, now that they both were "grown-up" and free. Is she free? Last time he heard she was with the "blond dick". What was his name again? Maybe he should talk to Luke more often.
"Jess, hi." She doesn't know what else to say. How should she explain that after all this years, all they've been trough, she still loves him and just wants to know what he feels.
Even her mother doesn't understand that. She says it is just her imagination and she should move on. But the only one she can think about, the one that somehow always found his way back to her, is standing right in front of her.
Somehow they end up in a café.
She tells him about how she broke up with Logan, the campaign and that now she is looking for a new job. Maybe here?
He talks her about his work at Truncheon and the about the new book he thinks about writing.
"So.."
"Yeah,..."
It feels like 17 all over again.
Then she just works up all her courage and tells him. How she can't stop thinking about him and somehow after all this years still loves him.
He just looks at her, surprised but also as if all his dreams have come true.
Which they have, he tells her later. After the kiss and the other kiss and...well...some more kisses.
As they leave the café, hand in hand, the sun is shining again and maybe, just maybe, this time everything will work out and they can prove her mother and everyone else wrong for once.
