Prompt: "Youth is wasted on the young." I live in the Southeastern USA and we were hit hard by twisters this week. This relieves a bit of my stress.
"It's windy out here! I'm going to fly to Oz today, baby! Look at that beauty over there! LOOK AT THAT GORGEOUS TWISTER!"
"Mikey, get the fuck back inside!" Raph screamed over the roaring wind. "I'm leaving ya! Blow straight to hell!"
Chaos exploded in Mother Nature's dead zone, and the monster super cell was quickly mating between the ground and the black sky. Rural New York rarely saw twisters and four green turtle brothers had hit the stormy jackpot.
"LEO!" Raph continued screaming, his eyes burning with anger and anxiety, "get us out of here! This shit isn't fun anymore!"
Don ripped his attention away from the computer, stuck his head outside, and smoothly cried, "Mikey! You have a better chance of getting a car crammed through your shell and around your intestines than being sucked inside! No more games! Time to go!"
A tractor whistled through the air, cartwheeled through the field, and smashed into a giant tree, sprinkling its mechanical bowels back into the wind. The noise alone sent Raph back into the van and kicking the back of Leo's seat. "I'd rather face a thousand Huns than this mess! Drive or I'm throwing you out there!"
Leo remained calm but nervous. He gripped the steering wheel. "Not without Mikey and quit kicking my seat!"
Mikey and Don scuttled inside the battle shell and slammed the door shut. "Go!" Don urged and bonked Mikey on the back of the head. Meanwhile, Raph moved in the front seat and spilled a large number of expletives as he witnessed the twister forming in the distance. Leo was screaming in his head but trying hard to be brave for his brothers; he had never seen Nascar in his life, but he was determined to set a driving record of his own.
"It's a good five miles away but we better get somewhere FAST," Don recommended. The van swerved and missed a flying trash can by an inch or so. "And preferably in one piece."
"The Leo 500!" Mikey laughed and hung on to the side. "This is almost better!"
Immediately, Raph dove into the back and wrapped his huge hands around Mikey's throat. "We would be hundreds of miles from this thing if we hadn't listened to you!"
Mikey squealed and gargled an unknown reply. The battle shell tossed the two squawkers around the place, tumbling, barking, laughing, and attempting homicide. Don avoided the hits and stepped over them. He put a soft hand on Leo's tense shoulder.
"You can relax now, Leo. We're away from immediate danger."
Catching his breath, Leo loosened his grip on the wheel and realized his two brothers were fighting in the back. Words couldn't escape his lips; he felt frozen. Inside, he wanted to chastise them but all he could see was a dark cloud and hear a train blaring in his ears.
On the other hand, Don was idly watching the spectacle, shook his head, and exit the battle shell from the passenger's side. "Let's go, Leo. There's more destruction in there than out here."
