The lover held her love,
She begged him not to go,
The fighter wrapped his gloves,
The fighter said I know I know I know,
Just this one last time,
I swear you'll still be mine,
But he can't promise much,
He goes for one last touch, one last touch
~The Fray, The Fighter~
It was an addiction that started in high school for Blaine, at Dalton. Before Kurt came around, he had no way to relieve his stress; so he started the Dalton Fight Club. And of course you aren't supposed to talk about it, but he kinda had to tell his boyfriend why he was gone every Saturday night with no explanation.
Kurt didn't approve, but he couldn't stop Blaine from doing what he does best; fucking people up. Once Kurt got to thinking about it made him all hot and bothered, just picturing Blaine beating on a guy, all sweaty and his curls going everywhere. He still worried for Blaine, but since he learned that Blaine was kinda 'the ring leader' of the club, he wasn't scared.
But now Kurt was scared. Blaine was in the real fighting now. You know, the fighting where you get paid to literally almost kill somebody. They told Blaine the figures he'd be getting if he fought and won. Blaine hurriedly agreed; he knew it was a chance of a lifetime, but Kurt was wary. He didn't think it was very safe to be fighting in those types of rings, what with the secret weapons and no rules. Blaine could be beaten to death and no one would stop them.
Kurt tried to stop him from accepting, but Blaine wouldn't hear it. The money he would be making was too much to pass up. In Blaine's opinion, Kurt just didn't understand. He wanted to provide for Kurt in the only way he knew how; beating the shit out of people and getting paid for it. If he took this opportunity he could buy all the clothes and things Kurt could ever want for the rest of their lives. He wanted to be able to make sure his fiancé was living comfortably.
So when Blaine started fighting in the empty warehouses that were spread out around the backstreets of New York, he started with smaller up and coming fighters who no one really paid attention too. After about a month of beating the shit out of one man and the next, he began to become noticed in the fighting industry. Big time managers were calling him from left to right, trying to convince him to higher them so they could put him under their wing and make him a "big big star".
Kurt called bullshit and Blaine didn't listen. He told him to stop while he was at it.
"I don't want you to die and then be sorry for the rest of my life because you didn't listen to me Blaine!" Kurt said while having a meltdown after Blaine told him he was going to fight another big time guy that night.
"I'll be fine baby." Blaine kept saying but Kurt knew it wouldn't be.
Herro! Not sure how long I plan this fic to be but yeah… I Just /really/ love The Fray's new song, The Fighter. You should listen to it!
