Author's note: Hello, loves. I've returned from afar. I hope you like this fanfic:) It's a Zeki, of course. Have fun reading:] Oh, and I don't own VK... *sigh*
She's a lot smarter than I give her credit for. Yuki, I mean. Maybe not in the classroom- okay, definitely not in the classroom- but in life.
I was tutoring her in math. Yuki often asked me for help in this, her worst subject. She stared uncomprehendingly at a simple quadratic equation.
"Math is for losers," the slight girl pronounced.
Ouch. "Math is my favorite subject.
"Oh..." Yuki looked down, her hair swooping in front of her face to cover her eye. For once she looked abashed. I thought so anyway, until I saw her grinning beneath her hair. Whatever...
I checked my watch. 11:11. "It's 11:11, Yuki. Make a wish." She closed her eyes and scrunched up her face. Was that supposed to help her wish come true or something? A few seconds later, she relaxed.
"Kay."
"What'd you wish for?" Not that I really wanted to know... Not much anyway...
"I can't say."
She couldn't say? Why not? Was it embarrassing? Or would it just make me mad? "Why not?"
Yuki shrugged. "If I tell you it won't come true. Plus, it's a little embarrassing." Well, that answered that question. Kind of.
I stood and gathered my things, as did Yuki. We began walking towards the sun dorms. "Come on, Yuki, just tell me."
"No...I can't."
Then it hit me. "You wished for Kuran, didn't you?" The bitter edge in my voice was easy to hear, but did she notice the jealousy behind it?
Yuki grabbed my hand. "No. Never. What if I tell you when it comes true?"
"Just tell me now!"
We bickered like this all the way. I only realized when I took out my key that I'd taken her to my dorm by accident. "Oh! Yuki do you want me to take you to your dorm?" I knew she wouldn't want to stay here...
"Zero, can I just stay here? I'm too tired to walk that far." Little did she know my heart nearly stopped beating.
"Sure." I unlocked the door and let her in. Of course, she immediately collapsed on my bed.
I, on the other hand, went to my dresser. I rummaged through the drawers until I found what I was looking for: a thin grey tee-shirt and some boxers. I'd last worn them when I was about 13; they looked like they'd fit Yuki.
I threw the wad of clothes at her. Yuki sat up and looked at them. "What're these?"
"Clothes." Blank look. "For you to sleep in," I clarified.
"Oh." She looked at me awkwardly.
I rolled my eyes and turned back to my dresser. "Yuki, just change. I'm not paying any attention to you." As if. Yuki obviously didn't notice the mirror propped on my dresser.
While I watched the mirror avidly, I searched by feel for something else in my drawer...
Don't get excited. It was a bag of hairbands. When Yuki had finished changing, I tossed those to her as well. "Here. I know you like to sleep with your hair up. "
She seemed surprised that I knew that. "Thanks...hey, are you going to sleep in your uniform or something?"
"Oh." I looked down. "I hadn't realized I was still wearing it." With that, I stripped down to my boxers, Yuki's face getting redder with every thing I took off.
I climbed into the bed with her, then switched off the bedside lamp.
I felt Yuki snuggle up to me, so I put my arms around her and pulled her closer.
"Hey, Zero?"
"Yeah?"
"I think I just got what I wished for."
"And what what that be?"
"You."
