"You do know how much I love you, right?" Emma asked as she nuzzled the brunette's ear.
Squirming so that she faced the blonde holding her, Regina looked into blue-green eyes. Cupping her jaw with one hand she considered her next words.
"I know that you love me, completely and utterly."
Emma's brow furrowed slightly. "Why do I feel like there's a 'but' in there?"
Regina sighed. Her eyes slid to the side as her voice softened slightly, as though trying to hide some of the hurt she felt.
"There is. People say they love me. And they are telling the truth when they do. I just never know for how long."
Emma's heart broke just a little at her lover's words. Moving so she straddled Regina, she cupped the woman's face in her hands as she hovered above.
"I love you now. I will love you later. But believe me when I say this." She leaned forward so the next words were whispered against ruby lips.
"I will love you for always."
