A/N: Some ways that I thought of for them to keep up the façade and all.

Even after many years in the GCPD Gordon still had to say the crime scene looked horrible. Any further description would only burn itself into his mind and he didn't want that.
The CSI had just finished taking all the evidence and he was only here because Stephens suggested that maybe he would notice something else. After all he had taken an interest in the investigation of this serial killer.
Three girls in two weeks. The murder weapon was undoubtedly a butter knife. It was always present at the crime scene and always from the victim's own stock. Obviously the murderer wore gloves.
When he wandered into the kitchen nobody followed him. Why would they? He had a camera with him along with something to keep the evidence in.
Just when he had closed the door behind him to have a „quiet moment" with the room, the light switched off.
„The man you're searching for is Harris Fletcher", a raspy voice told him. He knew that voice all too well.
What he didn't know was where the light switch was, as the light had been on before he got into the room and searching for it would take rather long. A perfect situation to be helpless and just stand there.
„How do you know that? And how did he get in?", Gordon wanted to know. Slowly his eyes were getting used to the darkness. He could make out indistinguishable shapes.
„He disguised himself as a plumber and was thus let in. You can find his fingerprints on the other knives in the drawer. You will find evidence in his appartment. Apparently he uses two knives and takes one home as a trophy", Batman told him. Gordon wondered how he had found out those things.
Then he heard a distinct 'click'. Blinded by the light he didn't see how the caped crusader got away. Perfect.
Still blinking rapidly he went out of the room again. „Sergeant, take fingerprints off the other knives in the canteeen as well. Maybe the murderer left some", he told a young man with blonde hair.
„Harris Fletcher", he mumbled to himself.
