First chapter for fan fiction- The dream
I watched my brother being chased by a skeleton with fiery eyes and a celestial bronze sword. I tried to run after him but a strong gust of wind pushed back against me, failing all of my attempts to save my little brother. As my heels dug uselessly into the sand, the glint of the moonlight on the bronze caught my eye and as I watched helplessly, the skeleton plunged his weapon towards Callum's neck and I heard a piercing scream.
My eyes shot open. I looked over the top of my bunk bed and I saw Callum lying on the floor with our dog (Cassie) standing over him licking his face. When he saw me peering over the top of the bed, he grinned apologetically, and said "Sorry, I had a bad dream and I must have fallen out of bed because when I woke up, I was on the floor with Cassie over me. You would have screamed as well." I laughed weakly, as I was still in a state of shock, and laid back down. After a long silence, Callum said in a shaky voice "Percy are you still awake?" "Yeah what's up Cal?" I asked trying to keep my voice calm, as the worried tone in Callum's voice was making me a little bit nervous. "You know I said I had a bad dream? Well someone was after you again." I jumped out of bed straight away and went to sit next him. "What do you mean Cal?" I must have looked really concerned because he seemed to understand that it was serious. "Well I don't think it was someone… I think it was something. Like a skeleton with fire balls in his eyes sockets, instead of eyes." Suddenly I remembered the dream I had just had. The skeleton sounded exactly the same as the one Callum had just described. This couldn't be happening again. "Cal, he was in my dream as well… did he have a bronze sword, could you move?" Callum started to panic now; it must have been the look of alarm on my face. "No I couldn't move, the last thing I remember before I woke up is the bronze sword piercing your neck." At this point I shot up, dragging Callum with me, and went and banged on my mum's door. She threw the door open straight away as if she had been waiting for us. "Cal and I had the exact same dream again" The look of shock I had seen a thousand times crossed her face again and she said "Both of you get to the car, now!"
