"Memories"

Nightime at Titans Tower. Quiet, but not peaceful. Beast Boy was sitting and skipping rocks on the ocean. Yet, there he sat throwing rocks in the water, attempting to skip them and so far only accomplishing the slow expansion of the Titan island's landmass. He didn't notice the slow approach of one of his companions.

"Don't believe Slade." Raven broke the silence. "It's not that she doesn't want to see you again, she wants to forget the past." "Why? Was it really that bad? I mean, she had us!" he replied. "And she betrayed us. Would you want to face your friends after doing that?" "But she saved us in the end. We've all forgiven her. I've forgiven her!" Raven walked up and sat beside him. She looked out at the ocean as she spoke her next words. "Others forgiving you isn't enough if you can't forgive yourself." His ears drooped down as he turned and resumed tossing stones into the ocean. The second stone he cast was quickly caught up by black energy and rather than drop into the water like an anchor, it was guided over the water, lightly skipping three or four times before being released into the deep. Beast Boy cast a glance at Raven as he gathered three small rocks and tossed them into the ocean simultaneously. All three were caught up in black energy and skipped three times over the water, then were combined into a slightly larger rock, flew back to right in front of him, and was thrown into the water directly before him, splashing him. He shook the water off, then became more annoyed when he noticed Raven had shielded herself from the water by holding up a shield of black energy in front of her. "Hey!" he cried as he stood up and looked down at her, "What was that for?" Raven's attitude was unchanged. "To help get you out of your mood." "I think I'm entitled to a bad mood once in awhile, Raven!" "Dwelling on your heartbreak doesn't change anything. It won't help you, it will hurt you. Take it from someone who knows." Raven stood up and looked Beast Boy in the eye as she put her hand on his shoulder. "The best thing to do is to think about the people still with you who do care about you." Beast Boy's ears drooped a little, then lifted up as his eyes went wide and were filled with sparkles. He raised his eyebrow tauntingly at her. "You mean, people like you?" Raven's face was deadpan. "You're going to ruin another moment, aren't you?" "Oh come on," Beast Boy countered, "You like having me around. Admit it, you'd be lost without me, Raven." "Yes, where would I be without your lame joke of the day?" she said, her voice overflowing with her trademark sarcasm. "Hey! My jokes are not lame. I swear one day I will make you laugh. And don't tell me deep down you don't laugh at my jokes. I've been in your mind and Happy Raven told me she loves my jokes." "Speaking of painful memories..." Just then, Cyborg rang in over their communicators. "Hey y'all! I'm about to lock the place down so get your butts in here!" "We're coming." Raven replied. She looked at Beast Boy in the eyes as she clicked the communicator off. "Aren't we?" she asked. "Yeah." Beast Boy replied. "And Raven, thank you." She gave him a small smile as they turned and walked towards the Tower.
