"10 drabbles, 10 topics challenge" on the HPFC forum. Prompt: Character exploration- Scorpius Malfoy
For the most part, Scorpius avoided walking alone.
The Gryffindor girls sneered at him and he flinched, much to their amusement. He picked up his pace and ducked his head, pulling his scarf up to cover his face.
He wasn't ashamed of being in Slytherin. He whole family had been, for generations upon generations, and he was proud to uphold that family tradition. It made life easy for him outside of school. It just made it difficult to be alone in the school hallways because of the long-standing prejudice that Slytherins were bad people.
His friend Albus would never see that, though. He sighed as he stared into the library, his book bag slipping off his shoulder and catching on his wrist. He was a Potter, and after the war, no student would dare to ostracize him for his House.
He stepped into the library with his face still hidden in the silver and green scarf, but it quickly became way too hot in the large, crowded room for him to keep it on. Sighing, he pulled it off and pulled a few books off of shelves, holding them in the crook of his arm.
But Scorpius? He eyed the students in the library with his bag trailing behind him, and was met with mistrustful glares and wide eyes. He sat at a table in the back with a huff. As a Malfoy, he would never be lucky enough to make it through the day without being glared at.
