"Do you ever think about it?"
Sirius lifts his head groggily from where he'd been staring into his cereal bowl to look at Remus across the table. Remus turns away from the window to meet his eyes, and repeats the question. Sirius blinks slowly for a second before his lips thin and he shakes his head. "Remus, love, I've no idea what you're going on about," he says, looking back down at the cereal and swishing his spoon around the bowl.
Remus scowls. "Hogwarts, Pads," he huffs. "Do you ever think about it?"
Confused, Sirius decides to take a moment to answer. "Of course," he answers slowly, narrowing his eyes at his mucky breakfast. "Not always, but sometimes."
He looks up at his lover, his concern growing with each passing second that he thinks about it. "Where did this come from?"
Remus shrugs, so Sirius stands and moves in front of the werewolf, pulling him into his arms. Remus leans against him without resistance. "It seems like another life," he whispers into Sirius' neck.
"It practically is," Sirius murmurs in return, staring out the window over dark blond locks. The sky is mostly clear, but there are clouds far off, and thunder rolls in the distance. His eyes flutter closed and he holds Remus tighter.
