Birthday's Suck! That's what Regina narrowed it down too.

No one ever forgot her birthday, Her, The Mayor, The one with the son that JUST started his first week in year one.

As Regina sat up in bed on the morning of her birthday, she smiled, feeling like this day would be good, but by lunch time, when no one, not even her son that said it every year first thing in the morning, said a simple "Happy Birthday" Regina felt lost.

When she waited outside the school gates for Henry as the school bell rang, she watched her son, bag too big, smile beaming, as always, Regina couldn't help but smile, and forget what this day was.

"How was school?" Regina asked as Henry climbed into the car and put his seat-belt over him.

"Good!" The Six-Year-Old beamed at his mother through the rear-view mirror and Regina smiled back.

"What did you do today?" Regina asked as she started the short drive home.

"Stuff." He giggled and patted his hands on his knee's excitedly.

Regina rose an eyebrow at his answer, he usually went into a full blown, one breath, speech about his day. Sighing in defeat, she bite her lip then thought for a second. "Would you like an ice-cream, Henry?"

"Yes Please!" He said excitedly.

Walking into the diner with Henry by her side, Henry ran over to Ruby and beamed at her. "Mum says I can get an ice-cream, Ruby!"

"Is that so, Buddy? Well, one ice-cream coming up!" Ruby smiled at the child whom she'd become 'friends' with as Henry called them.

Regina chuckled at her son's beaming smile and sat at a booth. "Anything for you, Madam Mayor?" Granny asked.

"No, thank you." Regina smiled, shifting hair from Henry's forehead only for it to fall back into place.

After dinner that night, Regina helped Henry on his spelling-list homework and he ran upstairs, coming down with his hands behind his back as Regina did the dishes.

Feeling arms wrap around her legs, Regina was startled from her thoughts. Looking down, she turned slightly and saw Henry with big puppy eyes. "Happy Birthday, Mumma!"

Henry said, holding a card out with glitter and a drawing of himself and Regina the front holding hands. Arrows with the words 'Mummy And Me' pointing to each stick figure.

Regina had tears in her eyes as she opened the card, a simple message of

"Happy birthday Mum, I Love You.
-Henry"

Clearly his teacher write it for him, but, that's all she needed. The most important person in her life didn't forget her birthday.

Regina leaned down, scooping Henry up into her arms & holding him close. "Thank you, Henry. I love it."
