Leaning against the banister, he stared at the heavy grey clouds, exhaling in small puffy breaths, the tendrils of mist he created curling in a soft dance, thanking his lonely soul for giving them life before, they too, disappeared. A short gust of harsh wind whipped across his cold-reddened cheek and he shuddered, pulling his heavy coat tighter against him. For a second, he stopped and realized the futility in trying to warm himself up- especially with what he was planning.
Some days we all let go and hope for better days
Sometimes we all run home and try to hide away
Some hopes we all cling to, tight, a lifeline in the mist
Some dreams were never meant to be, and so cease to exist
Another gust of wind blew his coat open, frigid air wrapping curling tightly against his skin, clinging to him the way he wished a certain fierce beauty would. A shiver ran down his spine, both from the bitter winter air and from the emptiness he felt within. He coiled his gloved hands against one another, glancing at the swift river far below him, dragging lazy blocks of ice along its current.
Some days we all consent it's better to go on
Sometimes we all agree it's best for certain things to end
Some dreams were never meant to be, and so cease to exist
But realize, my lovely one, I can no longer live like this
A small, half-hearted smirk graced his lips as he watched a sheet of the clear solid float beneath him, partially covered in snow. His loved one often 'reminded' him how akin his heart was to the substance. Oh, how he was terribly mistaken. But would he ever know?
And please try to understand, I don't like to make you cry
But in a thousand years I could never tell you why
Why we fell apart, and why I still love you so
And why this is making me break inside by my own accord
With the cynical smirk still attached to his lips, he glanced upwards for his last look at the sky. The beating drum in his head grew increasing louder with the quickly-approaching footsteps. He didn't move his head as he looked at the blonde, who had stopped at the bridge entrance, panting, leaning heavily against the railing. His smirk grew into an uncharacteristically tender smile as he turned to observe the beauty before him. When Jou's breath returned, he straitened, treading carefully towards the teenage brunet. Seto's smile turned sad as the boy moved towards him, brows furrowed worriedly. "Kaiba-kun…" It was then he noticed the blonde was crying, and it was all he could de not to run over and hold the boy in his arms, and kiss his tears away. But that would just serve to make everything worse, he knew, so instead he lept gracefully onto the ledge, sitting on it. He craned his neck to see the other boy's yes widening as he began to run again towards the taller male.
"Sayonara, Jounouchi-kun. Aishiteru." And with a small jerk of his hands, he found himself falling towards the icy waters below.
Because somedays we all let go and hope for better days
And sometimes we all run home and try to hide away
Some hopes we all cling to, tight, a lifeline in the mist
Some dreams were never meant to be, and so cease to exist
