Another story of mine. Please give helpful critique. No insults are meant. Trying to turn the comics books verse into a horror movie.

It was another dreary day in the universe. A universe filled with cosmic horrors which could undo and reshape time itself. Where entities moved through space and time itself to consume entire planets worth of life force, where Gods can reshape and undo the whole of creation.

But let us first look at this blue planet. For some reason, this planet has often been the centre of many galaxy and universe-shattering events. It's population was filled with people who could bend the laws of physics to their whim, yet somehow live like common criminals. People in colourful costumes and underwear clashed together on the streets, while bystanders looked helplessly on.

Yes, it's a comics books verse.

*POV of a child*

Nelson, like many other children his age, had always liked playing video games with his friends. Fortunately, the nearby mall had started giving out these great game boys. So on the weekend, he and a bunch of his friends all went together, and decided to start playing together.

It took some time for them to gather together, making Nelson impatient. Worst of all, they now have to install some sort of 'update'.

'Come on, come on, hurry up!' They all thought as one.

Then the world exploded.

The bombing of Gotham's children using toys was a horrific incident within the cities' history. it had more casualties than the time Joker flooded the city's kinder gardens with joker gas.

*POV of an bystander*

John whistled as he walked along the sidewalk. He had finally gotten his nerve up and bought that ring! It was now nestled safely in his pocket, where it was safe and sound.

He had asked Abigail to wait for him at the park, while he put on his best clothes and made himself presentable. He hoped that all went well. They had been dating for 3 years now, and he was anxious whether or not she would accept...

While he was walking on the sidewalk, lost in thought, there suddenly was a shout. Looking up, he suddenly saw a giant piece of a building, falling towards him.

John Smith had no time to even think of his impending death before he was crushed into paste.

John Smith, twenty seven, killed by collateral damage between lightbeam man and superstrong man.

*President's POV*

Okay, (insert name of general), what's happening? What can we do to make this situation better? Supervillain crime rates have shot up over these past 10 years, and its shows no sign of stopping nor slowing down. What do we do to make this better?

"Well, mister president... there's not much we can do"

"Can't do? I'm the president! And this is the United States! We obviously just can't let supervillains rampage around in our cities, and who are these heroes? I'm glad that they're trying to help, but they can't act as judge and jury! I'm glad they don't act as executioners, but I'll rather they have some oversight. "

*insert justifications on why this can't work. The government is not strong enough, people won't listen. This gets very emotional. *

Later that night, the President of the United States sank into bed. It was exhausting to be a leader of a country. And even more exhausting to discover that the country's safety depends on the support of vigilantes and superpowered beings.

"maybe being POTUS isn't all its cracked up to be..."

A/N: sorry if it's bad. Trying to bring across how helpless a normal person is in the comicbooks verse. I mean, not even the president could stop these villains and heroes. The people seem to have no real power over their destinies, only what the supers let them.

Not to mention the daily atrocities happening.
