"Can you feel the love tonight
The peace the evening brings
The world for once
In perfect harmony
With all it's living things"

-Can You Feel The Love Tonight from The Lion King

"Get in there, James! Don't be a wimp," Sirius snickered, trying to push said friend into the common room.

"Exactly, what's the worse that could happen," Remus suggested.

Peter piped up, "Well, she could reject him, hate him forever, and never love him."

"Not helping, Pete," Sirius exclaimed while smacking him over the head.

James Potter looked positively terrified. In his right hand was a heart shaped box of chocolates and in his left was a bouquet of lilies. They were fancily wrapped and cost him quite a bit of money at Hogsmeade. Lily was worth it though.

"James, if you don't go in there and give her those presents I'll do it for you," Sirius hissed in his ear.

"Yeah, and we all know how well that'll go over," Remus added, rolling his eyes.

"All right, all right. I'll give them to her. If I crash and burn you guys are all going to bail me out, though. This is my last chance to make her my valentine, and I really don't want to screw up too badly," James said, wincing.

Without replying the three remaining marauders pushed him into the room. He stood at the doorway holding the gifts awkwardly. Lily was sitting on her favorite couch near the fire with her friend Mary McDonald. She was writing furiously on a piece of parchment and took no notice of James' entrance. Mary, however, was a different case.

As soon as her large brown eyes landed on James she tapped Lily and whispered something in her ear. Lily looked up like a deer caught in headlights. She immediately went to collect her things, but realized she wouldn't have enough time to escape.

James had already started walking over without realizing it. He could feel small beads of sweat rolling down the nape of his neck. They were in their seventh year, and this was his very last chance to woo Lily on Valentine's Day. Although Lily had begun tolerating him more and more she didn't seem romantically interested in him at all.

"H-hi, Lily," James stuttered uncharacteristically.

"Hello, Potter," Lily replied sternly.

"I got you something for Valentine's Day. Here," James managed to blurt out.

He handed- no practically shoved the gifts into Lily's hands. She stared at them peculiarly. When looking at the lilies she rolled her eyes.

"Potter, couldn't you manage to be a little more original? After all, last year you got me a display of fireworks," Lily laughed.

James paled and replied frantically, "You want another one? I can do it! I-I just thought that you'd like a more subtle gift."

Lily rolled her eyes again and put her gifts down. She walked over to James, who was, at this point, sweating even more. His heart was also beating wildly.

Lily stood on his toes and planted a light kiss on James' cheek and whispered, "Those chocolates better not be spiked with love potion."

She grabbed her stuff, but on her way out was stopped by James.

"Do you want to want to go to Hogsmeade with me," he asked quickly.

Lily smiled amusedly, "Well, I suppose so."

Needless to say James got his valentine.

The last line was almost "Needless to say this was James' best Valentine's Day ever". Then I slapped myself across the face and changed it to something that I wouldn't laugh at. I like the one I picked better.

I'll have another James/Lily V-Day oneshot out, as well as a Fred/Katie. For those of you who read Because of Me, you'll have to wait another week for the Valentine's Day special. I feel like being a cheesy V-Day goober.
