Chapter 1
Embry looked into her deep, dark brown eyes and he knew…..he imprinted. Mary Samson was the most perfect girl; she was smart, funny, beautiful and Embry's crush for many years. The first day Embry met Mary he knew she was the love of his life, even if it was only Kindergarten.
That night started out like any other, the wolf pack was patrolling the woods in search of vampires. Until they heard a loud scream and thud, running over to investigate the source of the problem they found Mary Samson unconscious but breathing. Once Embry spotted the light-haired beauty, he felt his heart almost leap out of his chest. Until Sam ordered him to take Mary home and come back as soon as possible.
While taking Mary home, Embry got the chance to smell her vanilla scented shampoo and perfume that made him weak in the knees. Once in the Samson home, he settled Mary in her bed; afterwards Mary's mother changed her into some pajamas for the night. However, before he could leave Mr. and Mrs. Samson asked if Embry could stay with Mary; until they came back from the store. He obeyed with a nod; inside he was screaming "THANK YOU". Just sitting next to the light-aired beauty made him smile. He always had a thing for Mary but could never act on it. In many cases, it was the sheer fact that he was popular and she was a nerd.
Mary Samson isn't your ordinary Quileute girl, her hair is a rusted reddish-brown, but in the light it looked like a fiery red. Her skin is smooth and dark, taking her mother's beautiful, dark complexion. Mary's mother who like Embry's mothers was from a different tribe, the Taino tribe of Jamaica to be exact. Mary only stands at a mere 5ft 2 inches (5 ft. 4 inches in sneakers). But for Embry she was the total package any man could want in a woman.
After about an hour Mary's parents return from the store and said he could stay a while longer if he wanted to. At that exact moment, Mary opened her dark brown eyes. Their eyes locked and he felt weak, he knew he just imprinted on his true love.
