Author's note: Hello guys! *waves her hand* here's a new story! I always wanted to make a nalu fanfic based on the 2nd ova, but I didn't have any cool ideas, that is, until a few days ago! Ehehe...
So yeah, Lucy may be a little ooc at the beginning, but don't worry everything will turn back to normal somewhere in the story...Or so I hope...A-anyways, enjoy the reading and don't forget to leave a review! Even if it's something like: ":D" I'll still appreciate it. *winks*

Lucy sighed, looking at the huge golden gate in front of her.
"Fairy Tail, huh ..." She whispered to herself, slowly shaking her head. Another school that wasn't made for her. Another circle of people that would have rejected her. Another place and lives, she would have destroyed because of her stupid and selfish wish, and that is, to stay alive.
The girl sighed for the millionth time that morning, before she softly knocked on the paneled oak door in front of her. She then heard a harsh and husky voice say, from the other side:
"Come in." Lucy did as the voice commanded and opened the huge door. Slowly stepping inside, she noticed that the room's walls were a deep red color. Its right wall was solely made out of huge glass windows. In front of the door, at the very end of that big room, stood an empty office desk with a pair of brown leather armchairs, vintage style, in front of it.
It seemed as if there was no one there besides herself... Or so she thought. Suddenly a small old man jumped from behind the desk into Lucy's field of view. He looked at her, smiling, before he slowly made his way towards the young teen who managed to remain completely unaffected by his actions. The blonde teen bowed her head as the man looked at his watch and chuckled.
"As expected, it's one of your family's peculiarity to be always on time, isn't it?" Lucy slowly raised an eyebrow as she stared down at the small man, poker-faced. The man sighed as he motioned her to sit down on a chair, but the girl refused his invitation shaking her head no as she stood there, in front of him, still as a rock.
The only human thing you could see in her was her chest slowly rising and falling, showing that at least, even if she looked like a statue, she could still breathe. The man groaned in disbelief as he ran a hand down his old wrinkled face and then through his short white hair. His patience was running short.
"Look, Lucy Hea-"
"Lucy Ashley, sir." Lucy corrected him.
"Sigh ... Are you seriously going to hide your name?"
"Yes."
"I can't understand you, little girl...I seriously. Can't. Understand you..." The man turned back on his heels and slowly dragged his body towards an armchair. He then twisted it around so he could face Lucy as he quietly sat down, staring blankly in front of him. Makarov Dreyar, a man of great prestige and value whose reputation preceded him. He was once recognized and feared by who ever heard his name. The same fantastic man was now awkwardly trying to understand the rebellious teen in front of him.
"Why do you want to hide your surname? It can't be because of your moth-"
"It's my own choice, sir." Lucy quickly interrupted him, trying to avoid that specific topic. The soured man shook his head in disapproval. Her mother would have been so sad to see what her little shining star has become, he thought as he stared at his hands.
"I'll spare you this school's introduction... Your first lesson is about to begin in exactly …" The petite man looked at his watch.
"30 minutes." He looked up at the girl before he jumped down from the chair, bringing his hands behind his back as he approached her.
"Exit this building and go into the next one, you can pass through the small connecting bridge if you want to. Third floor, after firstly turning right go straight down the hall and your classroom is the second door on the left." The man hurriedly said as he gave his back to the young girl. Memorizing the information, the girl stared with her cold brow eyes at the old man's back, who was quietly mumbling something that she didn't care to listen.
"Mr. Dreyar." The man quickly glanced over his shoulder, clearly frowning.
"How many times have I told you not to call me like that, Lucy. Did you forget that me and your moth- Y-your family, used to be very close? Just call me Makarov." But deep down the man already knew that she was never going to do what he had just said.
God, this girl! If she keeps this stupid act up, she'll die out of coldness not of loneliness!... I feel so sorry for you Layla... Makarov thought, as memories flashed back into his mind.
-Flashback-
"Makarov." A sweet and calm voice spoke. The so called man turned around and smiled, seeing a blonde in her early twenties wave at him. The young woman was holding hands with a small little girl who looked like her split image.
He approached the kid, not surprisingly tall as him, and patted her on the head. The girl jumped at the touch and quickly hid behind her mother's skirt, peeking from time to time at the old man. Her big brown eyes trembling in fear.
"Ehehe" The woman giggled.
"Don't be afraid Lucy, my dear. Come, meet mommy's old friend." Layla softly spoke as she reached for her daughter's hand, who took it with uncertainty.
"You see Lucy, this old man here is Makarov Dreyar. He won't hurt you, don't worry."
"Just call me Makarov or perhaps 'master' if it pleases you more, little princess!" The petite man joked as he bowed his head. Lucy giggled and smiled at her mother.
"See? I told you he was nice." Over time the little girl grew closer to Makarov and every time he managed to visit them she would run up to him and shower him in all sorts of questions, such as: how was the world outside her mansion (since she couldn't go out) what was magic, if he could tell her his adventures or teach her about the myths, what were the meanings that the constellations held. The questions about the last topic were slowly becoming more and more frequent.
"You really like constellations, huh, Lucy? " Makarov giggled sitting on the deck next to Lucy, in a gazebo that was above a small artificial river in her garden. Lucy waved her little feet in the water as she slowly did big nods with her head.
"I loooove constellations! I want to have the same kind of magic as mama once I grow up! Ehehe" Lucy chuckled showing a huge grin on her lips. That same smile full of life and happiness reminded him of her mother's smile.
-End of flashback-
"Sigh ... What in the world happened to that happy-go-lucky Lucy that there used to be..."
"She died all together that day." Lucy hissed, or rather, the current ice princess replied to Makarov. The man was so absorbed in his thoughts that he didn't realize he said his thoughts out loud. He coughed, trying to hide the obvious embarrassment, as he trailed back to his desk.
"Just go already... I hope you don't intend be late on your first day." He glared at the young teen.
"I have plenty of time to get to my classroom, sir, as there are still 26 minutes left. I believe that if I increase my peace, I'll arrive there, more or less, 5 minutes earlier." The old man rolled his eyes before he asked:
"Since you're still loitering, I have a feeling that you want to tell me something." Lucy nodded in agreement.
"Sir …"
Makarov quietly stood in front of his windows as he chased with his eyes Lucy's small figure leaving his building and running into the next one, passing beside the gigantic fountain located in the middle of the road.
"Oh Layla... Now I seriously pity you ... Your dearly beloved family is slowly crumbling apart ..."
"Ok, class! Shut up for a second and listen to me. I have some important stuff to announce before I do my roll call!" Gildarts shouted as he repeatedly slammed his book on his desk.
"And then, and then, this jerk right here jumped right in front of me, screaming like a little girl: 'Kyaaaaaa, Erza! Not the face, not the face please! Hahahahaa!" A pink haired boy screamed at the top of his lungs making everyone in the class laugh. All the kids were circling the boy in the middle of the classroom, and they were chatting as they completely ignored their teacher's voice.
"W-what the?! T-that not true! I'll have you know that I currently have loads of hot chicks drooling after me, thanks to this handsome face of mine!" An orange haired boy snapped back before he grabbed the first teen by his shirt.
"Kids I sai-"
"Haaah? Wanna go pumpkin turd? Bring it on, I'm gonna smash ya face into the ground!"
"I fucking told you to be quiet!" Gildarts roared, making all the desks and other things in the room tremble vigorously. Immediately, all the frightened students ran back to their seats, except for one boy. The idiot of the class.
"What? You're all afraid now, huuuuh? Muahahaha, you freakin' chickens!"
"Shhhh Natsu! You're gonna piss off Gildarts again!"
"Well, I don't care-" Suddenly a chalk flew toward the idiot's head, sending him K.O in the blink of an eye.
"... Sigh ... I can't stand him anymore... Someone throw that idiot back into his seat." Following the man's order, 2 boys quickly stood up and picked up Natsu's body before they threw it towards the back of the room, making sure he would slam against the wall and consequently waking him up.
"H-huh? W-w-where I am?"
"Soooo guys...Shine bright! Today we have a big announcement. A new student is gonna join us, so make sure to be friendly with her ok? Come on in." As if on cue the door opened and a gorgeous young girl confidently waltzed in. Her long hair swayed up and down as she walked towards the teacher's desk, needless to say that all the male students noticed that her generous bosom slightly copied her bouncing hair. Her short skirt, stopping somewhere near her thighs, was exposing her smooth skinny legs as her honey-blonde hair gracefully framed her expressionless face.
Raising to his feet Natsu scratched his head, mumbling some curse words to himself. Annoyed, the boy turned around and fell back on his chair as he propped his chin on his palm. Lazily, he glanced towards the front of the classroom and as he did that his eyes almost instantly locked on Lucy. Starting from the bottom his eyes slowly trailed up the girl's body taking in all the details.
He silently watched as he noticed something particular beside her shiny plump lips. The girl stared down at the ground with her dark chocolate brown eyes, completely lost in her thoughts, when she suddenly heard the teacher's voice.
"What's your name, miss?" Gildarts clicked his tongue as he checked out his student from head to toe. Everyone knew that the man was a real pervert, but he wasn't the pedophile type, to make it clear, after all he had a family of his own and a rebellious daughter to look after.
"It's Lucy Ashley, professor, and I would really appreciate it if you'd stop staring at my chest." Suddenly, screams, whistles and laughter could be heard as the classroom fell into total chaos.
"Hehehe, you got me." The embarrassed teacher flashed her a toothy smile as he scratched his head.
"Well then, tell us something about yoursel-"
"The introduction should have lasted at least 5 minutes, Mr. Clive. I've been waiting for all this foolish parade to finish for 10 minutes now. I believe you realized somewhere along the lines, that the lesson got unnecessarily delayed." Silenced by her sharp observation, everyone in the class looked at her astonished.
"I would like you to do your duty and show me my seat, thank you."
"A-ah? Y-yes, of course...Umm...There! Near the window, in front of Gray Fullbuster." The professor snapped out of his stupor and quickly pointed to an empty desk on the left, in front of a bizarre looking young boy. Lucy's eyebrow slightly twitched as she noticed that the boy in question, who for some unknown reason was giving her a dirty look, wasn't wearing an uniform. Actually, he wasn't wearing anything but his pants. The boy laid there in his seat, with his leg sprawled open, as his muscular arms were firmly resting over his bare chest.
Trying her best to ignore him, the girl quickly walked towards her assigned desk, but as she did that something caught her attention from across the room. With the end of her eye she saw how the pink haired boy lazily slammed his feet on his desks, frowning in her direction.
Like, seriously? Pink? Wow, that sure is manly... Lucy thought as she reached her desk and sat down. Glancing around she noticed that everyone was giving her a funny look, as if she were the weird one out there.
"Okaaaaaay sooo...S-should we begin out lesson?" Gildarts coughed as he began his roll call, doing his best at handling that awkward situation.
"Guys, today ... We will .. Zzzz" The man slammed his head on the desk as he suddenly fell into a deep sleep, like he always did during his lessons. Strangely the new girl wasn't surprised at all, or rather, she couldn't be surprised. After all, the girl knew every single thing about that school.
"Hey, what was your name again Blondie?" Lucy heard a deep, manly voice ask from behind her as she felt the boy roughly kick her chair. Ignoring him, she took a book from her bag and placed it on her desk. In a matter of seconds she was surrounded by everyone and assaulted by a ton of various questions.
"Hey, do you come from America?"
"What's your favorite color?"
"D-do you have a boyfriend?"
"Where do you live?"
"What are your hobbies?" And so on. Lucy felt a little bit of anger boil up inside of her, as all she wanted to do was to finish that exhausting day quietly and alone, yet no emotion could be seen on her stony face. Her iron mask was too hard to break.
"Hey, what are you reading?" A petite girl with short blue hair, held back by a yellow bandana, crouched in front of Lucy's desk. She slightly lifted the book that the blonde was holding before she looked up again. Her brown eyes widened when she saw Lucy's deadly gaze. Yelping in fear, the blue haired girl quickly hid behind a tall boy with long black hair and piercings all over his body. The boy crossed his arms over his chest as he glared daggers at Lucy.
"Yah." He growled as the girl nonchalantly ignored him.
"Oi, Blondie, ya know it's rude to not answer?"
"Oi, Pinky, ya know it's rude to invade a stranger's personal space?" Lucy replied with the exact same tone of voice, as if to mock the boy who got all up in her face. The pink haired teen was a few inches away from her face, making it seem that their noses were barely touching. Even if her eyes were glued on her book, she still managed to hear him sit in front of her. The girl was completely unfazed by the fact that she could feel his oddly hot breath on her lips.
"Hahahahah, Pinky! She called him Pinky!"
"Ahahaha, you just got owned Natsu!"
"This girl has balls!"
"You heard that, Pinky, it's 'rude' to be so close to a person!"
"The great salamander, just got smack talked by a chick! Gihihihi" Natsu blushed as everyone teased and made fun of him.
"O-oi, m-melon head! How dare you call me Pinky!?" The boy quickly pulled away as he rudely pointed a finger at Lucy's face.
"Melon head?" The blonde slowly looked up as she raised an eyebrow. Cold, dark chocolate eyes met burning black ones. Surprised, Natsu's eyes widened as he saw the enormous amount of pain, agony, sadness, but mostly despair that those lifeless eyes held. All kinds of emotions that no one could see from outside. This girl was slowly dying inside. On the other hand, Lucy watched confused as the baffled boy stared at her.
What the hell? She thought as she gulped down the lump in her throat. She kind of had a feeling that the boy standing in front of her was up no good.
"O-oi, you-" At that moment the bell rang and Lucy jumped from her seat, startling everyone. She quickly glared at the boys standing in hey way, making them jump away.
"Tch, she sure has a bad temper, but I kinda like her. What do ya think 'Pinky'? Pff.." The guy, whose name was Gray, walked up to Natsu as he briefly followed with his dark blue eyes the blonde's body before he looked down at the pink haired teen, who was still shamelessly sprawled on the chair in front of Lucy's desk. He noticed that the boy was momentarily lost in his thoughts as he stared at the front door, like everyone else.
"Oi, asshole are you deaf?" The dark-haired boy kicked him in the gut, pulling him back to reality by doing so.
"Ack! The fuck are ya doin', stripper?!" Natsu immediately stood up and took the boy by the necklace, which in turn took him by the scarf. They glared at each other, while throwing nasty insults back and forth, before actually getting to the fighting part.
Lucy quickly walked into the cafeteria and after waiting in line she asked for a macchiato, a ham sandwich and a box of strawberry Pocky, which she would have saved for later. She quickly paid everything and ran away from there, since she never liked overcrowded places.
Looking around, she walked through the garden searching for a hidden and free spot where she could have ate her food in peace without being noticed. When she finally found one, she sighed in relief. It was indeed a good hiding place, shadowed by an oak tree. She sat on the edge of the small rock wall surrounding the tree, and inhaled the fresh air with her eyes closed. When she opened her eyes again she saw a couple of lovers walking side to side with their arms full of snacks.
"The girl will fall..." Lucy whispered, and in fact, as soon as she said that the girl fell and started to cry out loud. The blonde rolled her eyes when she suddenly heard someone clapping. Slowly glancing towards her left she saw a girl, maybe a year or two older than her, with a stunning body, long white hair and huge bright blue eyes looking in her direction. Her radiant smile spraying happiness and admiration from every pore.
"Woah! So you can see the future?!" The girl asked, sitting down a little too close to Lucy. The blonde scoffed as she quickly scooted away from her.
"I can't see the future. It was simply predictable. The girl was constantly stumbling and the weight that she was carrying in her arms exerted enough pressure to cause the fall." Lucy explained as she took a bite of her sandwich.
"Wooooah! You're very smart aren't you!?" Lucy didn't even try to answer as she proceeded to finish her meal, occasionally drinking her coffee under the constant amused gaze of the white-haired girl. When Lucy finished her sandwich, she picked up her stuff and stood up. Immediately following behind, the other girl coughed to get her attention, but got completely ignored.
"P-Pleased to make your acquaintance! I'm Mirajane Strauss, you can call me Mira." She ran in front of Lucy and extended her hand waiting for a handshake. Lucy looked at it and then up at her.
"The pleasure is all yours." The blonde teen dodged her and threw the handkerchief, along with the plastic cup and the paper in which her sandwich was wrapped, in the trashcan.
"How cold ..." Mirajane pouted cutely, pretending she got shot by an arrow in the heart.
"Shut up, flame brains!" Someone, who was coming towards them, shouted.
"It's all your damn fault that we've been called to the principal's office!" Gray hissed as he kicked Natsu.
"Haaaaah? You were the one who destroyed the window not me, ice-ass!" The pink haired boy snapped back as he returned the kick.
"Yeah, but you made huge hole in the wall, tabasco breath!"
"Natsu, Gray!" Mirajane shouted, waving her hand in the air above her head, as with the other hand she managed to grab Lucy by the arm, when she tried to walk away while eating a Pocky stick.
"Oh, Mira! What are you doing out here with ice princess?" Gray asked, as a smug grin made its way to his lips once he saw Lucy's confused expression.
"Ice... Princess?" The girl slowly frowned as she crossed her arms over chest.
"Yeah, that's your nickname, Blondie." Natsu smirked, complaining about his grumbling belly. They've been in the principal's office for the entire luch break and they were on their way to go eat something when they met Mirajane and Lucy. Lucy snorted, nibbling on her strawberry Pocky stick.
"Hey what's that? Give me a bite!" Natsu screamed happily as he quickly approached Lucy while keeping his eyes fixed on the Pocky stick in her hand.
"No."
"Awww, come on, I didn't eat anything, just a small bite, will ya?" Lucy took a step back before looking at the stick in her hand and then back at Natsu's hungry eyes. His drool was shamelessly dangling down from his mouth as he took another step closer.
"Just one more step and you'll end up in the infirmary." She threatened him, as she ate the stick before she slipped her hand inside the box only to find out that there was just one more stick left. Suddenly she got an awful idea.
Taking the stick out, she put it between her pink lips while shaking the box upside down to show the hungry guy in front of her that there was nothing left. A sly smirk quickly made its way to her cold face. Natsu suddenly frowned. His body strangely giving off a strong amount of heat as he quickly approached Lucy.
He firmly took her by the chin and bit the stick on the other end. As Mira squealed in a high pitched voice and Gray took a step back blushing furiously, the pink haired boy steadily inched closer to her lips. Shocked by his actions, Lucy quickly let go of the stick from her mouth and it ended up straight in Natsu's mouth.
"Ehehe... Thanks for the bite." He chuckled, licking his lips before showing a smug smirk. The next thing that Natsu saw was pink laced panties before complete darkness.
