A/N: This is just a drabble, but I liked it and I hope you do! There need to be more Peachblossom fanfics!
Disclaimer: If I was Tamora Pierce I would be working on the next Beka Cooper book, not writing fanfics about a horse.
Reflections of Peachblossom
I am the greastest among my kind, the bravest, the most intellegent, the most ferocious, I have faced battle many times, I am a war hero...did I mention I'm a horse?
I live in the The Royal Stables in the Capital of Tortall, we keep our two-leggars in a thing i think they call a "Pa-lace", which is basically this stone monstrosity that smells of two-leggers who could do with a good brushing.
I have a special two-legger, a female, she's rather on the stocky side, but dosn't use the sharp feet-things that hurt my sides. I didn't trust her at first, since my last two-legger didn't work out, the last one actually thought that IT was in charge, isn't that funny? The Girl-Who-Is-People told me that my two-legger is called a 'Kel' in two-legger talk. Two-leggars seem to do that 'talking' thing a lot, to me it sounds likechipmunk chatter.
I like my 'Kel', she is very well trained, never needs to be reminded to bring me my oats ot to brush me or replace my hay.
Also, she is alwalys willing to go to the tournaments with me, the tournaments is where us horses go to test our two-leggers against eachother. My favorite event is the one where two horses run towards eachother and see who can keep their two-legger on their back longest, two-leggers call it a 'Jous-t', my two-leggger is very good at this 'joust' and we almost always win, though why the two-leggers instist on taking those big stick-things with them is beyond me. Using two-legger words is fun.
The only thing that bothers me about my 'Kel' is that she is almost always trying to get herself killed, If I had a bag of oats for everytime I've had to carry her back to her heard when she got herself injured defending some small fuzzy People or two-legger, I'd be a very fat horse indeed.
The only other two-legger I like is a small boy, he has a bit of the magic The-Girl-Who-Is-People has. My 'Kel' calls him a 'Tob-e'. I also like the dog Jump, he follows my 'Kel', we have learned to share her.
My 'Kel' and I get along very well, she understands that I am in charge, though she can be a bit stubborn when it comes to a few things. Like how she gets mad when I try to bite her friend, the tall squeaky two- legger... my 'Kel' is not around right now, I think I'll go bite the squeaky two-legger.
