Warning: obsure and weird mating ritual, Sam acting oddly.
AN: this was just meant to be a laugh.
Summary: McKay can't argue with Sam any more...it'd be like cheating.
"I can't argue with you any more; I'm sort of…bickering with someone else and it wouldn't look good if I were to continue on with you." Lips were licked nervously. "I just thought you should know why I'm going to be a lot more polite to you and less snarky."
Sam's blue eyes widened in shock as she gaped at a clearly distressed Rodney McKay.
"I do hope that this will not effect our working relationship. It's just that the person I'm seeing can get a bit (more then a bit really) caveman if I argue too passionately with others."
"I…"
McKay shook his head sadly, "I would understand if you're upset, but really…you and I would only be having great sex and not a real relationship. And if I want to have any chance with this person, I really cannot be continuing this…verbal foreplay."
Sam almost tipped her plate over and Daniel (who was seated only a table away) choked. Foreplay? Damn, McKay sure had a funny way of doing things.
"It's not you…it's me. I just can't see us having a long lasting relationship. I'm sorry for leading you on." Then McKay proceeded to pat her on the head (like a child) before leaving the room.
Daniel sidled up and sat next to Sam, taking in her obvious shock, and abandoning any thoughts of food.
Sam's forehead wrinkled and she frowned, "Was I just dumped by McKay in public?"
"Sounded like it."
"We weren't even-" She stopped abruptly, having had a epiphany, and jumped out of her chair in order to indignantly say, "He dumped me. He can't dump me!"
"Whoa! Sam," Daniel attempted to yank her back into her seat and looked decidedly nervous as he noticed the people staring at them. "You're making a scene… And you weren't dating him."
"Oh." Sam deflated a little and sat down with a thunk. "You're right; I wasn't… I just, well, I've never been let down in public like that before."
"Okay. How about we go get some ice cream and chocolate and watch sad girly soap operas?"
Sam stared at him blankly. "Why don't we just skip that and head to the gym so that I can punch something?"
"That works too."
Unfortunately for the two of them, the gym was currently occupied by John Sheppard and Rodney McKay, which would have been okay had the two men not been arguing. Daniel quickly led Sam out of the room before the two distracted men could notice them.
"Oh God, I turned him gay." Sam exclaimed, still in shock from having witnessed the snark-fest. "Sheppard and McKay?"
"Well, that actually explains a lot. John Sheppard is one of the only people I know who will willingly argue with Rodney…he thinks it's fun."
Sam just blinked before practically shouting, "It IS foreplay!"
People in the hall stopped to look at her and Daniel before moving on, this was better then television, a regular soap opera, and they didn't have to pay to watch it. It was a nonstop show. Get a bag of popcorn, some skittles, and a nice cherry freezie cause your in for a long ride.
