AN: sorry to those of you who have me on their author alert list. A friend told me it was more constructive to write original pieces, and so I have. Its more fun since I can create my own circumstances and whatnot yet at the same time I miss having people complimenting/insulting/and giving constructive criticism to my work.

Love was cruel, why should it be any less cruel simply because one cut out their own heart. A short tin tentacle wisped out from beneath the others of his beard and gently caressed the tear rolling down his cheek. He had truly believed that simply because he had removed the part of him which gave him so much pain that he would no longer feel pain.

Curse that Calypso for giving him enough pain and heartache to mutilate himself in such a way, to banish his own heart from his being and slowly mutate into a monster that made even the most hardened pirates yell and run in terror. Damn Calypso for not being there when he came for her, after fulfilling the duty she charged him with.

The pain in his chest was still there, even if the wretched organ he called his heart was a a mere twenty feet away from him trapped in a wooden chest held and held at gunpoint. He stood by the rail at his ship as the crew worked to summon the Kracken.

Life was cruel, he lost the love of his life, and now the one creature he had allowed himself to love was sentenced to death by his very own hand. A strong pulse vibrated through the sea as the crew finished their task, and the captain knew it was time for him to do his part.

It only took a moment, as it always did, for the kracken to find its way to the ship. Long thick tentacles reaching upwards on the ship to greet its master. It slowly raised its body above the water to view its master and his air of inconceivable sadness. Seeing his pets large confused eyes broke his heart just that little bit more, it felt as if the last shred of humanity had been ripped from him at that moment and in a bellow of rage the yell "fire" escaped from his lips.

The creature simply waited, confused as to why her master would yell a phrase normally only yelled by their enemies. Then screeched in pain as rounds of cannonballs were shoot into her soft body. Davy watched unmoving as the crew took out his orders, the orders given to him by Beckett.

The Kracken fought back, strong tentacles basing into the sides of the ship in a feeble last minute attempt. Davy knew it was already too late, the crew had acted quickly and taken advantage of his beasts trust. The Kracken sunk back into the dark abyss and hovered beneath the ship. Davy took one long step off the ship into the awaiting ocean. He allowed himself to sink to the bottom and stand beside his beautiful beast.

The water was dense, the krackens blood spewing into the surrounding darkness. The creature kept a vary eye on her master, her betrayer, as he gently reached out and stroked one of the beasts tentacles. His eyes showed his sorrow and his pet understood. He stood at the bottom of the sea until the creature finally expired from the blood loss, and the moment he did he promised her that Beckett would die of the tentacles he killed.

AN: man fanfiction feels hard now... well its short but its there. Review/comment, if you wanna.
