AN: I set up a birthday challenge for Mushroom T over at my forum (actually, one month anniversary, but who's counting?), so I decided to write something as well. Happy One Month Anniversary, Lady T!

The moss beneath his paws was damp and cold, and Talonpaw could only curl up tighter. Rain poured down through the gaps in the leaves, soaking his fur to the bone. It had been four sunrises since "StarClan" had appeared at the island.

And they were dead. Brook and Stormfur, two of the greatest warriors to walk the forest, were dead. To Talonpaw, they were simply mother and father. Mother and father dear, murdered at the paws of Onestar and Smokefoot, two of the most treacherous pieces of foxdung who ever lived.

Talonpaw curled even tighter at the thought. Forget StarClan. There would be no better satisfaction than to watch their blood gush over his paws, staining his black fur crimson.

"Talonpaw?"

Weary eyes glanced up to the entrance, where a small tabby she-cat is silhouetted against the pouring rain.

"Hi, Lichenpaw."

She dropped a damp mouse at his paws.

"I thought you might be hungry."

"You were right. Want to share?"

The two crouched over the meager mouse, which looked so much smaller when the fur clung to its tiny frame.

"I'll always be there for you," she mewed softly.

Talonpaw swallowed a piece of the stringy meat.

"Even in StarClan?" he sneered.

"Always."

His eyes widened a little, and gently swiped a paw over her ear.

"I'll try to be there too."

AN: Ugh, so sappy. But I love all these characters so much! I do not own Lady T's awesome story Evil on the Horizon, but I do own the dialogue! Which is pretty much all I do own in this story… Spoilers for chapter one in the story though. Which y'all should check out. 'Tis awesomeness.
