SGA Fanfic: "Teyla's Retrieval"
Beautiful Alice
Summary: Teyla rescues John and Ronon. Surprisingly none of them get hurt during the rescue.
The quiet crunch of leaves was the only noise that she made as she crept towards the prisoners cell. She knew that she had little time in rescuing them, and she hoped that both would be well enough to run. She ducked beneath an alcove and managed to get towards the cells a few seconds later, into the little cavern that was in the wild hills of the planet that they were visiting.
Her friends were both pacing their cell, looking bored and angry at being captured and held. She silently knocked the guard unconscious before he could even open his mouth, and then turned towards the cell, unaware that she was in the shadows so that they wouldn't be able to see her standing there, two sticks in her hands, and the rest of her supplies in various pockets. She hadn't brought her gun because she knew it would cause noise, and they needed to be as quiet as possible. She hoped they would realize that.
Apparently, they did, for both John and Ronon were silent as the grave as she came out of the shadows. The only surprise John gave was a widening of his eyes, but he did not breath a word. Ronon just gave a feral grin in her direction, and she barely refrained from rolling her eyes-men.
She carefully and quietly unlocked the door using the key that the guard she'd just knocked unconscious had. She managed to move out of the cavern, with John and Ronon following her at a steady, quiet pace. She hoped they could reach the Stargate without much trouble.
They made it twenty minutes towards the Stargate. The Stargate had been almost thirty away from their cells, which was astonishing given how fast that the Kolarians moved when afraid or angry. She thought of what Rodney-who was safely back at Atlantis-would say when they returned. She knew that Sam would not be pleased with her staying behind willingly to rescue them, but she knew that the Kolarians were experts in torture and breaking people's spirits.
She did not wish for that to happen to John or Ronon.
They were nearing the Stargate now, and the three of them were being as quiet as possible in the woods and Teyla feared that it would not be enough. Still, they reached the Stargate, and for once there was nothing waiting for them when they were moving to return home. John quickly began to punch the buttons on the DHD, and Ronon was scanning the area, looking as though he were hoping for a fight.
She hoped that this would not become a regular thing, but knew otherwise that it was likely that it already was a regular thing. Smiling slightly as the Stargate lit up, she made both Ronon and John go in first before quickly following.
Her mission had been successful.
She had rescued her team.
