Hey everyone! This is my first story on here, so don't judge me too harshly? I promise I'll try to update every other day, & I will make the story MUCH more interesting as it goes on. Um .. please review if you liked it or hated it .. criticism is appreciated!

Not Alone
Prologue
"Danny my boy!" the loud voice of Danny's father bellowed. Danny winced at the sound echoing off the walls of the Fenton Assault Vehicle … ehm, I mean the family RV. "Yea dad?" Danny asked warily and cringed as his father turned to grin at him, ignoring the road and the innocent fire hydrant he'd just demolished.
"Jack dear, maybe you should concentrate on driving." Maddie, Danny's mother, suggested. "Nonsense! Danny should know all about our presentation!" Jack beamed at his son, who smiled unconvincingly.
"What presentation? Guys you didn't!" Danny's blue eyes widened in horror at the idea of his parents babbling about ghosts to his entire science class. "Now Danny, calm down. We're only going to explain how a ghost portal works. We even brought along the mini portal. Won't this be fun?" Maddie smiled innocently and Danny groaned inwardly. This was just what he needed.

"… next, explaining the workings of a ghost portal, Mr. and Mrs. Fenton." Mr. Lancer smiled politely and the class all stared blankly as the orange and blue hazmat suit clad scientists went and stood before them. After much explaining about ghosts and how he was going to tear them apart, molecule by molecule, from Jack, Maddie finally captured the class's attention.
"Now all of you will get the exciting chance to see a ghost portal open up here in your classroom! All of you will need jumpsuits to be safe." she explained as Jack produced them from a box he was holding. Danny slapped his forehead. How embarrassing.
"Ooh, I look like Danny Phantom!" Paulina squealed from behind him, causing him to glance back to see her twirling around in her suit. "Maybe he'll come out of the portal!" Dash shouted and Paulina gushed over the idea. Sam rolled her eyes and made a yacking sound.
After all the suits had been handed out and put on, Jack began to fuss with turning the portal on while Maddie checked their calculations one last time. At the same time, a girl sitting in the front of the class room stood up to take a closer look at the portal before it was turned on. She was peeling Jack's face from her chest when an "AHA!" came bellowing from behind the portal. "Jack something's wrong with these calculations …" Maddie trailed off.
The girl looked up just as the lights on the top of the portal began flickering on one by one and then popping as the amount of energy became too great. "JACK NO!" Maddie shouted as he yelled "BONZAI!" and pulled the switch causing the portal to whir to life and a blinding burst of light to shoot out of the portal and destroy the classroom with sheer force. There was a scream of pain and then the light faded milliseconds later, the portal's opening fading into an innocent mass of green swirls. All was silent as the smoke settled.
