Prologue
There's a website, they say that if you subscribe to it, you die. Think it's a pile of crap? It just might be. I'm a reporter looking into mysteriously linked deaths of young teenagers. Sometimes even adults. All these deaths, everyone died the same way. They all looked so peacefully, lying on their stomachs looking peaceful. They looked asleep if it weren't for their paper white faces and lack of pulse. For my investigation all I have that links these deaths together is a symbol.
It's only a website. Surely I should can easily find it? No such luck. This website isn't on any search engine. This website isn't advertised anywhere. It's hidden, and I'm having a hard time getting to it. The symbol I mentioned, the only thing I have to go by in my investigation, is one that appears on every dead victim. Neatly carved into their backs. Looks as if a surgeon came in and did it. It's always so precise. I try to look through their internet history for any unusual websites. But their internet history is deleted or in some cases their computers are completely trashed. I even contacted their internet service provider but every website visit is either a website with millions of hits, and I know it can't be them or these guys would have been caught already. Or it's either some website a friend set up for a laugh.
The first reported case was in East London. Some seventeen year old called Ben was found dead in his room lying on his stomach on his bed with that symbol carved in his back. Not only that; his parents and big sister were found dead with their throats slit in the same room. A few other cases the same to Ben's around the same area. All of these victims were Ben's friends.
Deaths like this began being reported in the states, a few more countries in Europe. Less people in Asia died from it and quite a few in Australia. Reportedly over 150 people have died with that symbol carved on their backs. If you ask me how people know it's because of a website, I wouldn't know. Talk over the internet started it. I was in a chat room a while back, three people were talking about it. One of them, a friend of Ben's, mentioned the website. Someone asked him for a link to the website, but Ben's friend never replied. He stayed online, but never replied.
What I'm after is this website. I want to find out who runs it. I want to find out if this rumour is true. I want to find out who's killing all these people. This isn't just something I'm being to told to report about for my job. This is something I'm interested in figuring out. My wife's younger sister was, unfortunately, a victim of this. But I'm not doing it out of revenge. This is just something I feel I need to warn people about before it gets out of hand. You'll join me on my search from a point where I'm searching for Ben's friend. He apparently knows about this website. He's my only link right now.
I hope he hasn't already subscribed…
