He watches the sun setting over the farmland

Imagines his dad fixing the tractor with a gloved hand

Pretends his mom's in the kitchen fixing dinner

And Chloe's writing for the Torch, another winner

Tonight he's camping with Pete and his brother

Has no idea who are his father and mother

His ship's in the cellar, but he doesn't know it's there

Has never met the man with no hair

The girl of his dreams is still his closest neighbor

Never before has he had to save her

There's so much he doesn't know yet, so much he can't do

He's unaware his humanity is untrue

Life is simple with his family on the farm

How could adding just a few years do so much harm?

Now he returns to the present, the sky has turned black

And he is left thinking of how much he wishes he could go back
