Before he dials the phone, before he arranges her on the ledge, she knows what's going on. This will all come down to a choice, and she's aware of where she stands. She's painfully, many times over, aware.

The masked man holds a message out in front of her, and she feels the phone press against her ear. Reading it, as calm as possible, she then shoves in a real message at the end. Just to make it clear she is keeping score.

Even if they were to surmise where she is right after the call, Juliet had seen the time, and she knows how long it takes to get here.

There's a possibility this could end very badly, regardless of who tries to save her.

The giant clock behind her goes clunk clunk clunk. She counts the sounds.

She doesn't want to die like this, like the falling chandelier. Not like this, not like some prop for a show that has nothing to do with her.

In this agony she waits.

Even as she is rescued, she still feels the looming demise.

She is falling, falling, falling. No matter who saved her.

When she finally lets go, she cries into her partner's lapels. He holds her like she's in pieces.

Like she is broken.

A/N: A quick little bit, because I don't think Juliet's blank expression and breakdown rest on Shawn's shoulders. Not completely, anyway.
