A Father's Worry

He worried and fretted

She screamed and cried

She couldn't bear the pain

His right hand hurt with a twang

The Father left the room with his head hung low

While the mother tossed to and fro

He walked down the hall, only for a moment

The baby was due and he knew he could assent

When he walked back inside

He started to cry

He just couldn't bear to see her whine

He sat down beside her

And wrapped her hand around his

She squeezed and he winced with a sad sort of smile

Her screams were vile to anyone's ear

But when the time came His brain went

Completely lame

The child cried a fierce, howling yell

her, tired and her face covered with sweat fell

Fast asleep in a nice warm bed

The Mother and Father a family at once

He worried and fretted

She screamed and cried

But they were a family

And all was

Fine.
