Summary: Carmen had just resigned from the agency and went along as a small-time thief. She meets a wandering girl while being pursued.

Content Disclaimer: I do not own the Carmen Sandiego franchise or its characters.

Author's Note: I wanted to focus on Carmen and Ivy's relationship and after scrolling through pinterest, I found a comic that did exactly that.

Swift moves were accountable. Alleyways were pensively darker at night. The young thief glimpsed at the shadow from her hiding spot.

"Hey, Ivy." She whispered to the little girl in her arms.

Ivy removed her hood and gleefully smiled. "Yesss, Carmen!"

"Wanna play hide-and-seek?" She asked the girl.

Ivy tilted her head. "Hide-and-seek?"

"You be 'it'"

"'It'?"

The thief chortled at her clueless phase. "Close your eyes…" Ivy closed them and cupped her hands over her eyes. "Count to ten…" The shadow ventured closer. Each step barely moved a leaf. He was close...too close.

"Until then, understood?" The thief leaped from her hiding spot with the girl curled up against the crook of her neck.

"Good enough now?"

Carmen exited the alley, returning to the isolated streets. She hid her weapon behind her back. Footprints were evidence of her deed that would hopefully be overlooked upon.

"Good enough now." She responded at last.

Ivy opened her wide eyes and beamed. "I found you!" She exclaimed.

"Yeah, you found me." Carmen returned a slight smile.

Probably my most favorite idea I've ever seen on pinterest. Carmen wanted to protect Ivy from what she— criminals had to do in order to stay alive and didn't want her to see people get hurt.
