Crimson Blood-trails
Preface
Influential Enemies
I stared into the eyes of my old friend, unmoving and cautious. My muscles tensed and were ready to spring at any given moment. It would be easy to kill them both, but then the guards would have gotten to me afterwards. But who cares; at least those traitors would get what they deserved.
Then a thought occurred to me; I should leave. I should give me and my friends another day to live. I should surrender right now and allow the safety of my coven. That would be the smart thing to do.I started to ease up a little and decided to turn around, slightly, cautiously. I could be apprehended with my guard down; I've seen that in the past. These haloed demons would do anything to win. My sudden fit of inner rage probably surprised Cora, but she knew it wasn't directed towards her. It was directed to the monsters who kidnapped my one source of existence, the only thing keeping me from the fiery destiny that awaits. And if I wanted to prolong that destiny then I ought to get the hell out of here while I still can.
Wait, no. I can't. I won't be influenced that easily. Then a hand touched mine, and I instantly understood my doubt as fear. But this isn't my fault; they caused this. They are the reason for this monster I've become. Not me. And if this was the end then at least my friends would be safe. I thought of all the people I left behind when I came here; Emma, Joshua, James, and Desmond. Desmond was the only one who willingly left, his pessimistic attitude probably saved his life. I was glad that it would. And if I was miraculously released from this castle of doom-I'm pretty sure they wouldn't just let me go-I would find him and lay low.
I was interrupted in my planning by a really vivid video of a woman I knew well. Alice Cullen. She was speaking to man whom I also knew well-though no one knew I did. His name was Joshua Brandon and Alice Cullen was apparently sending him on a mission. "Tell him the decision has been made and he should flee Italy and base in Washington. He should know that it's you. And try to keep him from touching Aro's hands, Bella is here but I don't think she'll be able to shield him when he's inside the castle. Good luck." The vision ended just as Aro stepped forward. Whoever has touched me must have vanished. I doubt they'll be able to leave without notice due to the specifics of their tracker's ability.
Aro stepped forward, a smile playing on his lips.
"We have made our decision." he announced in his thin sheeted voice. "Please Mia, Corona, forgive me."
