Ballroom Dancing Chapter 1: First Lessons

"Please Ollie! Please go with me!"

"No way! Ballroom dancing's for wussies!"

"It is not! There's a lot of buff guys out there who ballroom dance!"

"Nope! Not gonna do it!"

"But what about dances like the rumba!"

"The rumba?"

"Only the sexiest dance in ballroom."

"You'll be my partner?"

"I'll be your partner." She answered reassuringly.

I finally gave in. I mean who couldn't? With her eyes drilling into me, her beautiful, scorching blue eyes. So here I am, about to go to ballroom dancing lessons with my girlfriend. Man, the guys would kill me if they knew about this! I suddenly stopped in my tracks as soon as we got to the door. Truthfully, I was terrified. Yes, me, a twenty-two year-old, almost-out-of-college grown man, scared out of his mind of making a fool out of himself in front of the love of his life. "Lily, I changed my mind, I don't want to go."

"Oh, c'mon Oliver! I already paid for it. You're whether you like it or not!" Then she started pulling me toward the door. Lily has a surprisingly strong grip.

"Ow! Ok, I'm coming!" Lily had this smug little grin on her face. Ugh! I hate it when she does that!

"Alright everyone! In your positions!" Ms. Johnston A/N: Cookie points to whoever can tell me her actual first name & her partner's name (hint: Dancing with the Stars) was teaching us tango, and surprisingly, we were doing pretty well. "Now 1, 2, 3, 4, 1, 2, 3, 4. Lily, Oliver excellent!" I beamed.

As I counted out the steps, I whispered in Lily's ear, "We're actually pretty good at this."

"I told you so!" as her breath tickled my ear, I noticed how close we were and savored it, loving every second. The tango was the perfect dance for us. As Ms. Johnston explained, the tango is about two people who are desperately in love and despise each other at the same time. Though, with Lily and I, the insults are always fake. That's what I love about us.
