ENEMY DETECTED
Dee and Ryo entered the police precinct in a swirl of snowflakes. Ryo fastidiously brushed down his clothes and wiped his muddy shoes on the entrance carpet. Dee, as usual, didn't even bother. Sighing, Ryo hurried a few steps until he was once more in step with the other man who apparently hadn't even missed a beat in their conversation.
"You should have seen the look on Berkely's face when I told him he-" Suddenly, Dee stopped short, his sentence cutting off before he could reach the punch line of his story. Green eyes narrowed suspiciously and his nostrils flared as he sniffed the air like a wild animal detecting danger.
"What is it, Dee?" Ryo asked, glancing around the long hallway uneasily. "What's wrong?"
"That scent…" Dee inhaled deeply. "I know it from… somewhere…"
Curious, Ryo scented the air as well. It was subtle, this fragrance, it was almost… fruity with a touch of musk. "Men's cologne," he muttered, "Though the only man I know who would wear a scent like this would be-"
"Dee-sempai!"
Dee cringed and jolted as a pair of strong arms wrapped around him from behind in an overly exuberant hug.
"Hello, JJ," He grumbled.
"How did you know it was me, Dee?" JJ asked, all smiles.
"Just a lucky guess."
