a/n: As you may or may not know, on Tumblr, we have what is called the Fic War 2012, going on, where you submit a fic to someone that will provoke unwanted emotion and destroy all feels, and whoever you sent it to, will retaliate., in hopes of destroying you.

So, this is my first attempt, and I thought I would post it here, too. Enjoy! Read and review.

"JJ, he's sick. I had to bring him to the hospital," Will explains, his voice is somber.

"Well, did you give him his medicine?" JJ asks, her voice is cold and accusing.

"Yes of course I did!" Will says, shocked that she would even say that.

"Well, I'll come home as soon as I can," JJ says firmly.

"No, Jay, you need to come home now," Will says, pleading.

"God, Will, are we really gonna have this fight again? I'm so sick of it," JJ says exasperatedly.

"No, we're not fighting! You need to come home because…Henry's sick, Jayje, and they…" Will sounds like he might be crying, "the doctors don't think he'll make it."

"…what?" JJ asks, her voice cracking.

"He's dying, Jennifer," Will says, and she knows he's crying. JJ sinks to the floor against the wall of the precinct.

"JJ?" He asks after a few minutes of sobbing.

"I'm," her voice comes out broken, so she clears her throat, "I'm coming home now," JJ says and stands, "tell him mommy loves him and I'll see him shortly."

"Alright, I'll see you soon, but hurry," Will begs. JJ hangs up and rushes out of the precinct, ignoring the shouts from Hotch, and Emily and Derek and the rest of her team. She ignores their phone calls, their texts, and their worried voicemails. She has to get home to her baby.

"JJ," Will exclaims, when he sees JJ rush into the waiting room.

"Where is he?" JJ asks, rubbing her red rimmed eyes.

"This way," Will says, holding out a hand, but she doesn't take it. They enter a quiet hospital room; the only sound they hear is the steady beeping of the EKG monitor, tracking their baby's every heart beat.

"Mommy?" Henry croaks out.

"Hi baby," JJ tries, but her voice fails as tears rush forward.

"I'm tired," he whispers.

"Oh baby, I know you are," JJ nods, taking his hands.

"But I didn't want to fall asleep without hearing a story first, like always," he requests.

"Of course. Story…time first," JJ says, as the tears begin to fall.

"Daddy you sit, too?" Henry asks quietly.

"Ok, little man," Will nods, his voice thick with emotion. JJ sits on one side of the bed, and Will on the other, with Henry in the middle.

"Once there was a baby star. He lived up near the sun. And every night at bedtime that baby star wanted to have fun. He would shine and shine, and fall and shoot and twinkle oh so bright. And he said, "Mommy, I'll run away if you make me say goodnight," JJ recites, stopping to wipe the tears away.

"Keep going, mommy," Henry asks, his eyes beginning to close.

"And then his mommy kissed his sparkly nose and said, "No matter where you go, no matter where you are, no matter how big you grow and even if you stray far, I'll love you forever, 'cause you'll always be my baby star," JJ finishes, and as the last words leave her lips, the EKG monitor emits one long beep, and she knows its all over.

"NO!" She cries out, and holds her baby boy tightly, as Will wraps his arms around both of them, and they sob together, because that night, their baby star stopped shining
