Chapter one: White lilies, crimson blood

2009, London

First Dracula saw a body of a young man, laying on the green dew-moistened lawn between the graves. He was dead, but he was not bitten, and he would not rise as a vampire.

Dracula smiled. "Lucy?"

Something moved in the darkness. Something white.

Dracula´s smile widened. "Come here, I want to speak with you."

Lucy walked slowly to his sight. She was blooming with rosy health and life, with dress of rose-patterned satin, pearl-white and bustled. She was so gorgeous, so pure, so feminine... and so very dangerous.

"How did you find me?"

Dracula chuckled. "Following the bodies of bullies and torturers, drowned in the sewage among other waste. Apparently that victim had not drinkable blood, either."

"No, he had not." Without even glancing the victim in the lawn, Lucy watched Dracula keenly. "Why did you came?"

"I am searching Mina."

"Perhaps she does not want to be found."

"Is that the case?"

Lucy nodded. "Yes."

"So you will not tell me where she is?"

Lucy smiled a bit. "You found me. If Mina is alive, you will find her, too. Just tell me one thing. Why do you want to meet her?"

"It is not your business."

Lucy looked angry. "Not my business?" she hissed. "I am not some filthy human, Impaler´s son, so don´t speak to me like that!"

And before Dracula could react, she had disappeared in the flash of white satin.
